"Shocking God of War": All humans and gods have cheat devices! (A tribute to "Ambush on Ten Sides" is here, haha!)

If you happen to watch the trailer of this film before going to the cinema, then congratulations, you have seen all the big scenes and wonderful shots of the film before watching the film. It's not an exaggeration. "The God of War" is just relying on the trailer to bluff people. In fact, the special effects, actions, scenes, and 3D effects are worse than the reputation of "War of the Gods"! The film really wants to pretend to tell the story in a serious and serious manner, but the script is mediocre, and the logical rationality is terrible! The most thrilling thing is that at the end, when Zeus pulled down the mountain to bury the Titans, and then picked up his daughter Athena as a heroic act, seeing the Titans’ swords and guns were about to poke over, Zeus actually turned into stars and soared away. I think if the Titans were there. If there is a line here, it must be: "You have broken the cheat device!"

In fact, the whole film is a high-powered, high-power cheat device, in an attempt to use pseudo-Greek mythology plus something similar to "Spartan 300 Warriors". "The action is to fool the audience, but in fact it sells dramas that pretend to be serious, intend to preach, but are actually tasteless, and have a logical breakdown. Those who are a little familiar with Greek mythology should know that the protagonist Theseus in this film has nothing to do with the heroes of the same name in Greek mythology. Calling it a joke, it’s a bit high. ! And it seems that the screenwriter and director only remembered the word "Hu" and simply forgot how to write the word "Edit". The story of the film is only smooth at the beginning, and the more outrageous it goes, the more logically it cannot be explained. , The seemingly well-designed foreshadowing directly turned into a terrible failure!

When the Greek deserter killed his own people and took refuge in King Hyperion, it felt a bit wrong. Didn’t the leader of the Greek army deprive you of your qualifications as a fighter? Is it worth your heart to pervert to kill your own people and then surrender to the enemy? It can be seen that the director wants to spend some pen and ink on this character, so that he can become the contrast of the protagonist Theseus in the spirit of personality. However, the later scenes in which the traitor appeared did not have a sufficient psychological portrayal at all, let alone any changes at all. In the end, they inexplicably rushed to Theseus to take the initiative to die in the final battle. The character was very badly portrayed. One failure. Theseus killed so many enemies in order to save his mother. King Hyperion didn't kill him after he caught him. Instead, he asked him to do coolies, which in itself seemed incredible. Without any explanation afterwards, Theseus ran into the Saint Prophet in the desert, and the Saint Prophet and the maid were all equipped with killer skills. They instantly killed the guards and saved Theseus and fled together. The screenwriter and the director designed The plot is strongly entangled, this is the second failure.

When the saint prophet dreamed that Theseus and King Hyperion "meeted with a smile and enmity", it made people feel that this would be a very powerful foreshadowing. Is the plot to design a Theseus from going astray to The super reversal of reforming evil and returning to righteousness? After all, the prophet has the final say! It turns out that this foreshadowing is extremely cheating, and the thing that the prophet dreamed of did not happen at all! Just because Theseus is a hero favored by God, does King Hyperion bother to surrender him? Isn't it that he doesn't believe in God at all, and he still cares about what this guy favored by God is doing! Moreover, it was made clear that persuading surrender would not succeed at all, because Theseus wanted to avenge him for killing his mother, so how could it be possible to surrender in a few words? I can design such a plot that is outrageous and useless, and does not respond. I immediately asked the screenwriter. And the director’s incompetence and shameless "respect"! This is the third failure, and also the most nonsensical failure of the film in my mind!

The group of high gods in the film is actually very nonsense. It is a bit too much to say that they are "gods". It is more appropriate to call them "super thugs"! Because the film shows that they are super capable, there is not much "divineness" shown at all. The "punk head" shape of the sun god Apollo and the "fly head" shape of the sea god Poseidon are even more ridiculous! Moreover, the gods in Greek mythology are immortal. The gods in this film are super powerful, but they are mortal bodies and also die. This makes the behavior of the gods logically unreasonable. Zeus repeatedly said that he could not help the Greeks and Theseus, and that they had to rely on their own strength to defeat the strong enemy, but looking at the contrast of strength between the enemy and us, if the gods do not help each other, can the Greeks have the slightest chance of winning? The sea god saved Theseus once, the sun god saved Theseus, and at the end, the Greeks relied on the landslide created by Zeus to frighten the enemy. The gods became the cheaters of Theseus and the Greeks. It is a situation where the Greeks will be defeated if God does not take action. How can Zeus have the confidence to let the Greeks "rely on themselves"? And Zeus knew that when the Titans came out of the world, the world would be chaotic, so he could directly kill the King Hyperion who did not believe in gods. Why did he still have to adhere to the principle of "the Titans can't come out of me and I won't move", and finally forced the gods to almost all The danger of annihilation? This kind of morality is too pedantic!

The biggest failure of "The God of War" is still in the protagonist Theseus. The film is always discussing the topic of "faith", but Theseus's "faith establishment" process from unbelief to God is designed to the extreme. It's broken! The turning point from unbelief to believing actually happened when the three gods Apollo, Athena, and Poseidon descended to earth, and the rescue of Theseus, who was about to lose his opponent, started. Isn't this kind of belief simply nonsense! It's like you didn't believe in ghosts, and then a ghost patted the shoulder behind you and said "HELLO". You turned your head and immediately believed it! In other words, there is a genius doctor who claims to be able to bring the dead back to life. You don’t believe it at all. When you are dying, the genius doctor really makes you go from danger to peace, you immediately believe it! This is not called "belief" at all, but is called believing in a fact! He only believed when God saved Theseus. What kind of faith is this? Moreover, from the beginning to the end, I never see why God cares so much and believes in Theseus. Although he can fight very well, he is not in a state of invincibility like "Spartan 300 Warriors". It's more than enough, and if an enemy master comes over, it will be difficult for him to cope with it! In the end, he did not lead the Greeks to defeat the strong by the weak, and the key to retreating from the enemy is still in supernatural power. The difference in the film's portrayal of Theseus's heroic image is simply unbelievable. Thinking about it carefully, he has hardly been a "hero" from beginning to end. At the end, making him the spiritual leader of the Greeks resisting the enemy is completely mechanical. Originally, the Greek army was ready to flee. He, a man of no fame and merit, ascended to the top and said something that almost incited emotions would immediately reverse morale and let him go. Others played with him for their lives, and in the end they suddenly ascended to become a member of the gods without any explanation. Is it reasonable to design the plot like this?

Finally, let’s talk about the action scenes of the film. I won’t mention 3D. You have to spend 100 yuan to wear nose-pressing 3D glasses to see almost no 3D effects. "No one is stopping you, isn't it? The action scenes are actually nothing to be commended. As mentioned earlier, you can see the wonderful scenes in the trailer. Do you think that King Hyperion shot the Greek gates with a divine bow? Still think that Poseidon plunges into the sea and makes a huge wave beautiful? Do you still think it’s nice to imitate the slow-motion fighting in "Spartan 300"? It's not surprising and exciting, right? In the whole process of watching the movie, there is no fight scene that can arouse the author's emotions. In addition, the film is also full of some deliberately bloody shots, which makes people look boring! The only thing that interested the author in the action scene was that Theseus got the divine bow and fired three arrows in a row, and then charged the fourth arrow. As a result, the four arrows hit the enemy at the same time. Does this scene look familiar? It's exactly the original copy of Takeshi Kaneshiro's archery in Zhang Yimou's "Ambush on Ten Sides"! Seeing the Hollywood blockbuster pay tribute to the Chinese blockbuster so naked is the only comfort to watch this film! (Text/Leven)

Immortals quotes

  • Stavros: Hyperion's legions are gathering at Tartarus. That's where Hellenists will fall.

    Phaedra: That future's not set.

Stavros: But likely. It'll be a slaughter.

    Phaedra: You have no faith.

    Dareios: Heathens.

Stavros: That is true, Dareios. But not always. When I was just a boy, I prayed to the Gods, for a horse. The Gods never answered me. So I stole one, instead.

    Dareios: We're surrounded by heathens.

[Falls dead with a knife in his back]

  • Phaedra: To those whom much is given, much is taken away.
