Since watching "Moonrise Kingdom" that year, the love for Wes Anderson has been out of control.
That kind of sweet love is like tickling the flesh, and it will make a squeak with a poke.
This "Youth and Younger", as an early work by Wei Dao, has not yet shown the ultimate control over color, but it can already be seen.
For example, letters with beautiful swashes, clothes with bright colors (ps: green is actually quite difficult if you want to wear them)

However, I think that what is more important is what a person is like when he is happy.
This is the key to making the whole character stand up!
Bill Murray did it. His role is basically not overwhelming, especially when he sees the heroine eating carrots and taking a walk.
His love for the heroine is about to overflow the screen, but he basically has no expression in this scene.
Everything is basically an awkward conversation, and the heroine is still controlling the topic. He has a personal feeling that he can talk to death at any time
You say he is dull? Just kidding, how could a person who is really bad at speech accept an invitation to participate in a speech? If it's really dull, how can you become a big boss from scratch?
My understanding is that he is already very happy, and this kind of happiness is still "mourning" in our opinion, and it is still not so happy. Only by thinking about it can we figure out how unhappy he was.
And this kind of dullness and sluggishness is itself a classic link in a romantic comedy, and it is humorous in itself.
Bill Murray added a new level of humor to this kind of humor. A more absurd sense of humor.

This is the charm of performance. This is where Bill Murray is brilliant. Painful or numb humor.
