Enemy: Mulholland Drive in a small format (8/10)

Enemy is a new work by director Denis Villeneuve. The Prisoners directed by Villeneuve last year is a masterpiece
. This time Enemy is also played by the male protagonist Jake Gyllenhaal, and
his acting skills against Wolverine in the Prisoners have become the dominant player in this movie. He likes Jake. 'S friends can't be missed.

Although Enemy has a relatively small format and a slightly lower cost, it is a pretty good psychological suspense film. After reading it, the
first model I remembered was "Mu Holland Avenue". The whole movie revolves around the concept of Double (the
screenplay is also adapted from Nobel Prize winner Saramago’s novel Double), and perhaps Freud’s
analysis of ego, superego, and superego can come in handy again in this movie. Are there people who are exactly the same? Or is it just a dream or a
split personality? Where is the illusion and where is the reality? I think everyone will have their own opinions after reading it.

Due to the yellowish tone of the film and the lack of change, the atmosphere of the whole film is slow and depressing, which makes people feel
sleepy during the viewing process. Fortunately, seeing that it became more and more exciting, especially the last shot of the movie,
which really surprised me. After watching it, I still have the strength to climb up the codeword. The movie's grasp of details is also very good. For example, the
constantly appearing keys, spiders, rings, blueberries, etc., have far-reaching meanings. Repeated shots, lines (although there are
a few changes, such as stuttering sometimes and sometimes not stuttering), scenery (Toronto really Gemini large spiral
floor? Or the dream of magic?), Also closely linked to the Double This topic.

Although the first time I watched the movie, some lines and scenes felt inexplicable. Fortunately, such a movie must be watched more than twice
, I believe it will become more enjoyable as you watch it. Score 8/10.

Enemy quotes

  • Anthony: Control, it's all about control. Every dictatorship has one obsession and that's it. In ancient Rome they gave the people bread and circuses. They kept population busy with entertainment but other dictatorships used other strategies to control ideas, the knowledge... how do they do that? Lower education, they limit culture, censor information, they censor any means of individual expression and is important to remember this, that this is a pattern, that repeats itself through out history.

  • Teacher at School: Where There's a Will There's a Way.

    Anthony: It's true.

Teacher at School: No, it's a movie, I saw it a little while ago but um... I remember it was... I liked it.

    Anthony: Hmm. Where There's a Will There's a Way.

Teacher at School: Yeah, that's it. Local film, if you...

Anthony: I'll keep it in mind.
