"In the era of surging information, maybe everyone should subconsciously reflect on themselves."

A good ruler, named The Front Runner.

The story takes place in 1988, and this movie storyline is easy to understand. In short, it can be described as a senator and Democratic presidential candidate Hart who entered the race but dropped out, a mistake made, three heartbroken girls and a group of immoral people. Hart's rants are portrayed with appropriate brush and ink in the film, and each rant is a struggle between the individual and the collective. His roars when he was being followed, and his roars when he was questioned by unknown reporters, were all his personal expressions and emphasizing countless times: "Please pay more attention to what the rulers do, and pay more attention to their own lives, the rulers. It's here to help everyone move into the future, don't focus on their private lives all day."

Or this story expresses the sorrow of America, the cry of democracy. News is now treated as a commodity, inevitably pushed to the precipice of entertainment. People become cold-blooded, cruel, and can't think for money. The reporter pushed Hart into public opinion and then pushed back on him. Public opinion can hurt not only himself, but also those closest to him. A capable person leads everyone to a better tomorrow, but he can't resist the cusp of public opinion, not to mention the wives he protects, and those girls who want to be dug up by everyone. But it's not all the reporter's fault. If he hadn't made the mistake of that day, perhaps his campaign path would have been smooth. When he became president, the United States would have peace for all eternity.

Of course, the film can't just stay here. Going deeper, you will find that the degree of commercialization of news is getting deeper and deeper. The media, which was originally linked to politics, was covered in the silt of the political gutter. The motherland is even more terrifying. In addition to food, fruits and vegetables, the people care about today, yesterday and tomorrow's entertainment gossip news headlines and Weibo hot searches. When you open Weibo, you should know that you are locked in Weibo's information echo wall. But when you find that all the media you see on the Internet are reporting the same event and expressing the same opinion, you will find that the similarity and repetition rate are very high, and even the repeated information you see will become a tool to control you. The trust in news is still not high in today's society, and every piece of entertainment news we see today is just a selling point. Since people don't pay attention to political and social issues, or only focus on news that is related to themselves and close to them, it also provides opportunities for these media to fish in troubled waters.

We have all experienced the terrifying degree of public opinion. The most sad and chilling thing is that the victims have suffered injuries that can never be cured, and there is no cure. Every character in the film has a cool air. The wife's forgiveness and tears, the daughter's decadence and collapse, the girl's experience and fate, Hart's talent and abandonment, all remind people of the murderous fingertips of a pair of keyboard warriors. The warmest and most hurtful thing in the world is language, and reports can easily build up a country and destroy a normal person effortlessly.

It has to be said that in recent years, American films have increasingly praised this type of film in which journalists excavate the shady scenes of rulers to report. This kind of reporting is called Investigative Journalism. From the "Washington Post" to the release of "Breakthrough Generation", they all reveal a more democratic atmosphere in American society, which is rarely heard in China. The "Washington Post" has a box office of 177 million, while "Breakthrough Generation" has only $2.2 million at the box office so far. Perhaps the "Washington Post" wins because the story is more moving, as well as the portrayal of the characters' psychology and the overall rhythm of the film.

People want to live in a world with transparent information, but they don't want to dig too deep. In the era of surging information, perhaps everyone should subconsciously reflect on themselves.
