I was very moved after watching the movie.
Because I hadn't read the introduction beforehand, I felt that the camera was very stable, especially in the last 30 minutes, the emotion was very strong, so I thought it would be a more experienced director.
When Brady pointed a gun at Apollo, my heart skipped a beat, thinking, this director is really cruel.
When I watched it, I had some doubts. One of them was that it would be difficult for an actor to complete a difficult scene like horse riding, so I started to think that I had worked hard on casting.
It wasn't until the end of the movie that I saw the subtitles that I knew it was based on a true story.
But if you, like me, thought this movie was great just because the director told a good story, you'd be wrong.
Because this is a "documentary" in addition to being a "biographical film". Because everyone in the film is playing themselves in real life .
Of course, the "documentary" here is going to be aroused.
The experience of the male protagonist Brady has been made clear in the film (he said in the interview that except for the injury part, many of them are actually fictional, but this is understandable, because this is not a real documentary).
Here I want to talk about Brady's friend, who also appeared in the film - Lane Scott .
The film does not elaborate on Lane's experience, but only mentions it through the memories of a few cowboys at the beginning. So I thought he had an accident in the game just like Brady (it wasn't).
Even the few clips Brady played in the hospital about Lane I thought at one point were fictitious. (emmm... Mainly because the Lane in the video is so different from the Lane in the wheelchair, it's hard to imagine it's the same person...)
However, it is not.
Lane Scott was real and is still rehabilitating in the hospital to this day.
In the film by himself .
As the video in the film says, 18-year-old Lane used to be a superman, invincible in the "cowboy circle".
When Brady was 2 1/2 years old and Lane was 3 years old, they learned how to be a cowboy together. So Brady said in the movie that Lane was like a big brother to him.
But on September 3, 2013, there was a serious car accident, and tragedy befell the 19-year-old boy.
There is not much online about the specific situation at that time, so I can't understand it either. All that was known was that Lane was in a coma for 7 months.
A Google search for Lane Scott turned up a Facebook page called #PrayersforLaneScott# , set up by Lane's family and friends.
The first post was published on September 5, 2013, the day after the crash. After that, there will be updates almost every day to tell you about the real-time status of Lane.
But the post has now been stopped. My personal guess is that Lane's state has basically reached a stable level, and with the filming of the movie "Knight", more people know about it.
The last article was published on September 3, 2015, the 2nd anniversary of the car accident. It describes in more detail Lane's process from comatose to awakening.
Translate it:
Year 2: September 3, 2013, the day that turned our world upside down and put us on a roller coaster of fear, prayer, and great hope. But somehow Lane and we both found an incredible strength to fight (and death) and have been.
Lane was in a coma for seven months and finally woke up in May 2014. Since then, he has worked very hard in therapy.
Lane taught himself sign language within days so he could communicate with caregivers, family and friends.
In December 2014, our Christmas wish came true..Lane can finally go home!!
Lane is improving every day. He thinks about who he was and who he is now, and more importantly, Lane has really been through so much. Lane's progress and the fact that he is still with us today is nothing short of a miracle. Lane has his own goals and is determined to achieve them. We also believe he will. Lane is humorous throughout, and that's probably why he's making huge strides. Lane likes having people come to visit him and making things difficult for them. (smiley)
Sometimes it's hard for us to understand why this happens, but we still feel very lucky that Lane is still with us now. We are very grateful to all the medical staff we encountered along the way, who have been tremendously helpful in Lane's recovery and will remain so. During this time, we met so many people who ended up being our friends and family. We will never be able to repay your prayers, kindness and support along the way, but we want to thank you again.
"Tell me I can't do it. Tell me I shouldn't even try. Tell me it's impossible. Tell me there are too many risks, too many challenges, too much success. Tell me I won't try again. , but I'll still do it!" #sayiwont
I have seen several movies about cowboys before, so I have a certain understanding of the risks a cowboy has to take. They are indeed betting their lives. Therefore, I also admire their spirit of not giving up easily.
When disaster strikes, we always fail to understand why we are suffering like this. However, if everything is a foregone conclusion, we may consider another, stronger way to face it. Just like the optimistic Lane, in the face of illness and dreams, never give up.
This spirit is far stronger than what is shown in the movie. Even if life has driven you to a dead end, you have to fight again.
Whether Brady chooses to stay on the court or turn away before the final game, he's not wrong. Of course he knew to pursue his dreams, otherwise life would be meaningless; however, he also knew that on the other side of the racecourse, two people who loved him were waiting for him to return home safely.
Get busy living, or get busy dying, there is no right or wrong .
Finally, I will post a video of Lane Scott dancing found on YouTube. I wish him a speedy recovery, and I hope we can walk out of the shadows like Brady and face bravely like Lane when we face the pain of life in the future.
