I don't like the emotional soundtrack at the beginning and the end. Maybe it's a matter of personal taste. I feel that the documentary has been made into a very guiding drama, especially the trump part is nothing new. There are more opinions than facts. I kept thinking for the first half, I don't need you to tell me how bad he is, isn't this just a self-repeating circle, like a lot of liberals refuse to discuss Trump when they hear it. But he is really a good storyteller, and he was completely hooked after seeing it. It's just that a thousand people have a thousand versions of a story...
I like the episodes of Flint and parkland the most, because I started to get rid of self-repetition and really do what documentaries are good at: documenting or exposing. After the water source of Flint was polluted, it was really shocking that the army entered without authorization. Obama's pretentious visiting speech made the local people discouraged and gave Trump more votes. It is also a new angle. parkland is when high school students say, "former presidents we accept your apologies to what you've done", when they speak up and become protest leaders. When I think of the 11-year-old children in youth theatre who are already aware of racist and sexist, their political awareness sometimes really makes me feel ashamed... On the other hand, some of my undergraduate classmates are doing weird things...
Last but not least, stop saying make America great again, America is really fucked up. The movie said it well: whether it's democrats or republics, they're actually getting close to each other, and they're all dividing the country...
