I have always believed that there are fairy tales in this world, and I don't understand why I should look at Ghibli from the perspective of an adult. It was just boring to watch, and it happened to be the premiere again. I didn't expect to find a treasure. Overall I think this is a tribute, Mary pays tribute to all Ghibli heroines; the weird fish chasing Mary pays tribute to the weird paper cranes in Spirited Away chasing Chihiro; the monster at the end that absorbs huge magic Or a gathering of magic powers) may be a tribute to the faceless man when he went mad; Mary's house pays tribute to the architecture of "Howl's Moving Castle"; the magic school pays tribute to "City in the Sky"...
Mary feels a lot like Caroline from "Ghost Mom." Inferiority, vanity, transformation...
Some people may think that a single heroine and the ending of "truth, goodness and beauty" are the point of aesthetic fatigue for Ghibli, but I don't think that modern society needs Ghibli.
(PS: At the end of the last, when I saw the three people in the "Thanks" column, I burst into tears.
And Guangmei's voice is only a short paragraph! Not enough to hear! )
