Watching the movie "Dream of Floating Life", I wrote my own film review.

By the end of the movie, it doesn't tell us what kind of person Rachel is - and of course it doesn't matter. Love comes from one person's imagination of another person, the truth is never important, what matters is the truth you believe. When I love you, even if the whole world rejects you, I still believe in you, because you are my world; and in the same way, once our trust is cracked, even if there is no conclusive evidence, my heart has already made a judgment - this is. Philip's view of love is also that of first love. But this madness, for a young man who has just begun to love, can be just a dream, and if he wakes up, forget it; but for a widow, it is the realm of life and death. We can't simply decide what's right or wrong. Neither the movie nor the original tells us the so-called "truth". In the end, we only understand one thing: the hangings executed at the crossroads in the past are still such things, and life is Evidence, executed by love.

It's a mysterious story. I haven't read the original book, but I don't know if it's a far-fetched narrative or an ambiguous effect deliberately created by the director. The style of the whole movie is very strange. The picture and framing are not to say, it is picturesque, and Rachel Weisz's wonderful interpretation also declares that she is not just playing this role because of her name. . . Hahaha it seems a little cold

The music scenes have made the atmosphere enough, but in this kind of story with two sides swinging, the portrayal of the male protagonist is too simple and rude, and even the immature character design makes people feel that he is too hysterical. Rachel Weisz is very suitable for this kind of elegant and mysterious role. The seemingly casual provocation is very attractive, and it is difficult to see the true state of her heart at a glance.

My Cousin Rachel quotes

  • Louise: Look.

[reading a message hidden inside an envelop that Ambrose wrote and mailed to Philip]

Louise: "She has done for me at last. Rachel, my torment. For God's sake, come quickly."

  • Philip: Where is he?

Enrico Rainaldi: Where is he? Surely, my dear fellow, you know. He is dead.
