That red sports car, galloping like lightning on the lazy highway, is just like her character, never hiding and never dodging, exposing the black and exposing it upright, being a person who is straightforward and innocent, and passionate about patriotism and love.

The times we live in and ourselves are constantly changing. In the past, we worshipped "vigorous life is worth it", but now we like "plain is the truth"; in the past, we dreamed of a dazzling life, but the reality gradually makes us satisfied with the comfort and stability of the small fortune; accept it from childhood to adulthood With Confucian WTO education, but unknowingly become Buddhist boys and girls... There is no meaning to praise or criticize, but when faced with social crises, we cannot be content with silence.

Ordinary means safety. For the sake of stability in this world, we are content with the ordinary, so when I see Veronica's short and splendid life experience, I should not be the only one stunned.

To become famous without effort, many people are willing; to become famous after being injured, some people are willing; to exchange death for fame, almost no one wants to; to exchange the fear of life and the final death for fame, probably no one is willing. Veronica has experienced all of this, but what drives her to take on everything is not fame, but something more mysterious - conscience.

Society is a melting pot with all kinds of people going through all kinds of things. Although the surface looks bright and beautiful, once it is uncovered - it is full of sores. Such as poverty, violence, immigration, racism, injustice... Veronica wants to draw attention to the growing drug trade, of which teenagers are the important victims.

Her stubborn and brave behavior was widely known by the media, even prostitutes knew she was a hero, but few would like to join her. Why do we see her alone with all the threats and procedures all the time? Why is she often not seen by the editor-in-chief, and it is difficult to get support but is hit? Why is it that in the face of the rampant drug trade, more and more child victims, and more and more serious social unrest, only a small group of people persist in marching and demonstrating?

An important reason is that the material power of drug lords is too strong, and they use bribes to interfere with judicial justice in an attempt to exploit legal loopholes. Another reason that cannot be ignored is the indifference of the majority of society. Everyone has become accustomed to selectively shielding themselves from the dark corners where their own interests are not harmed, habitually pursuing the small and safe and comfortable, and habitually thinking that it has nothing to do with them, or that others will do it.

It is true that there will be people who do not lose their conscience and responsibility, such as Veronica, but the support of others is very important!

In today's era, the speed of information changes is too fast. Hot news stays on the headlines for no more than ten days, and there are other more sensational news that grab attention. People no longer pay attention, and the media no longer follow them, so many sensational news has been left unfinished and hidden, and the expected effect has not been achieved. The Malaysia Airlines incident, the red-yellow-blue kindergarten, the nanny arson case... As ordinary people, we are not as capable of in-depth tracking as reporters, but we should be more dissatisfied, so that our curiosity and focus will last longer, so as to urge the media to track and promote social change.

In this drama, I saw the tremendous power of media people. Even the wily drug lord looked helpless when he saw Veronica's firm eyes and heard the words "but they won't win". When he broke the disguise and thumped the unprepared Veronica, when he bit out the word "Damn" fiercely, he had silently declared his fear. What kind of agitation can a person's brave appearance bring to public opinion! This powerful influence is worthy of the media people's pride and deep consideration.

The media controls public opinion, and wherever the media turns their attention, the masses will focus their attention. Because of this, the direction of the media is particularly important, and people who dare to light up the corners and uncover the dark side are even more needed! The media should have this sense of self-awareness and responsibility.

There is no doubt that Veronica is an excellent reporter. She is beautiful, generous, brave and upright, kind and responsible, has extensive contacts, strong communication skills, strong professional ethics and charisma. She meets the requirement that "a reporter should be a detective at the same time". She has a very sensitive sense of news in unknown corners of society, and can find clues about the truth in the process of communicating with people.

What I really admire is that when she was brought to the brink of collapse by the mental and physical torture of the drug lord, she still insisted on maintaining her appearance and self-confidence. She said, "The most they want to see is me giving in. I'm going to lose a lot in the process, but if I or any of the reporters give in, it means they've won, but they won't!"

One of Veronica's weaknesses or strengths is that she is too frank and simple. When uncovering the dark corners of society, she still maintains her obsession with the inherent goodness of human nature, just as she said to people with a smile in a TV interview: "Who would hurt a reporter?" So she confronted evil forces more than once, Even before preparing to expose the informant, he took the action of informing the former "friend" in advance, and finally made no secret of his anger and disgust. She is not an actress. She hides her fears out of instinct, and she can't do the so-called smart behavior of self-protection. From another angle, she may already know her own ending in the confrontation again and again, death is a matter of time, but she still has to do it. "?

On June 26, 1996, when she was sitting in the car waiting for the traffic light, a speeding motorcycle stopped beside her car, smashed the window of the car and shot four bullets into her back. The obsession was finally shattered. Several of the young people she wanted to protect killed her; the informant who was once her "friend" betrayed her in order to survive.

There is a famous saying: At first, they hunted for communists, I was not a communist, I didn’t speak; Then, they hunted for Jews, I was not Jewish, I didn’t speak; Later, they hunted for union members, I was not a union Members, I don't speak; after that, they hunted down Catholics, I was a Protestant, I didn't speak; in the end, they came to me, and no one spoke up for me again.

Each of us is a part of society, and social changes, no matter how distant they may seem, are ultimately relevant to us.

Seeing young people in the slums with tired and gloomy eye sockets, stepping on syringes filled with drugs, Veronica may think of her own child. If she walks away, her boy may become a boy sitting on the steps in the future. One of the people who played with a syringe could grow up to be a young drug addict in a dilapidated building... If she walks away, no one can hold on.

"Sometimes it's wiser to leave the ball with the crazy old man, but sometimes it takes courage to walk away," the mother said in a heart-to-heart with Veronica.

Just as she bravely knocked on the door of the crazy old man when she was a child, she bravely chose not to walk away when she grew up.

Thankfully and ironically, her efforts paid off after her death. Her actions severely damaged the rampant criminal gangs, and more people in the country participated in the anti-drug demonstrations. Those plausible drug lords finally fell into the law, and the government also amended the constitution to allow the freezing of the unknown assets of drug dealers. As a journalist, she is well-deserved "the conscience of the people".

Veronica used her life to inspire people's confidence. She is not only a hero of the press, but also a hero of the whole country.

Eyes that are sometimes sharp, sometimes firm, sometimes gentle, sometimes mischievous, a short, blunt blond hair, and a suit that always looks neat and tidy, Veronica is beautiful. That red sports car, galloping like lightning on the lazy highway, is just like her character, never hiding and never dodging, exposing the black and exposing it upright, being a person who is straightforward and innocent, and passionate about patriotism and love. We will not forget the dark forces that grow recklessly in the era of silence, and we will not forget the Veronicas who broke the silence with their voices!
