#Today's Movie# "Robinson Crusoe" Robinson Crusoe accidentally kills his friend Patrick in a duel for his wife, and is forced to live in exile, living at sea. During a violent storm, his boat hit a reef and its hull cracked, killing everyone except Robinson and the captain's dog, Skeep. After that, with the surviving goods and food on the ship, one person and one dog began to survive on the desert island. In the days that followed, Robinson met the natives who ate people, rescued their sacrifices, and named the sacrifices Friday. At first, he regarded Friday as his vassal and slave, let Friday call him Master, and even locked Friday in shackles in the corner at night. But over time, Robinson discovered his arrogance and arrogance and apologized to a hurt Friday for it, and the two finally became friends. A large number of cannibals came to the island again, and the two defeated them with their wisdom, but at the last moment, Robinson was hit by an arrow. Friday risked death and took Robinson back to his tribe, asking the tribe to rescue Robinson. After Robinson was injured, the two were forced to duel over the fire pit again - only one person was left. Neither were willing to kill their friends, and at a critical moment, a group of white slave owners suddenly came to the island, shot and killed Friday, captured Friday's clan, and brought Robinson back to Lisbon. It had been six years since Robinson left home. The whole film has been greatly adapted from the original book, adding elements of love, so that Robinson murdered for love and went into exile from then on, instead of being adventurous as written in the original book. The biggest highlight of the whole film is the religious conflict and racial differences between Robinson and Friday, as well as the appearance of white slave owners at the end of the film, which adds a layer of irony to the film.

Friday's character is very expressive. He is innocent and ignorant, full of curiosity about unfamiliar things, very good at learning (speaking English fluently in six months), kind-hearted, and loyal to his friends. He probably never thought that he would die under badman's musket so easily.

Dry and boring, I have to say that it is extremely difficult to adapt a work like "Robinson Crusoe" into a movie. A one-man show of a person talking to himself on a lonely island may be interesting to read if it is written, but After imaging, it is inevitable to lose some of the most interesting things, which is the genius of "Desert Island Survival".

Man Friday: Skipper go to Crusoe's God?

Robinson Crusoe: No. Dogs don't have mortal souls. Only men have mortal souls.

Man Friday: Too bad. Good dog.

  • [first lines]

Daniel Defoe: I am a journalist Robert, I assure you. I have very little interest in your flights of fancy.

Robert: You Daniel Defoe are a writer. It's your destiny as such to bring this remarkable man's story, a story of intense struggle, extraordinary friendship, and undying love to the world.
