"Once Upon a Time in Venice" is a comedic action film about private detective Steve's hilarious events to redeem his dog kidnapped by a gangster. The story is absurd, the narrative is bland, and the word of mouth is dismal.
After chatting about the synopsis of the film, I went to the comments.
I. Funny characters, never forget
to mention the funny characters in the film, the first is Steve (Bruce). Looking at the whole story, the funniest part of the story is that the protagonist steps on a scooter naked to escape the pursuit of Nola's brother. This 5-minute scene is definitely a good start for the work, but the subsequent plot trend is getting more and more Mediocre, hilarious elements less and less.
In addition to Bruce's Steve, there are also a few characters who are also very good, such as Tino (Adrian Martinez) - the man who asks Steve to retrieve his hijacked car; Spider (Jason Momoa) - gentle at heart , funny villain. It is the existence of these characters that makes the boring and mediocre plot a little fun.
II. The lackluster plot is a
bit embarrassing when it comes to the plot, what exactly is this work about? Not just "Steve saves the dog", such a simple incident. As for other content, they are all based on this incident, and the "added value" is brought out, adding fuel to vinegar, incorporating some old-fashioned funny plots, vulgar jokes, and far-fetched narratives, turning the original lack of novelty into a more interesting plot. For cliché.
III. Clumsy comedy color
Although the director has done enough homework in character design and character characterization, he has indeed received certain effects. Unfortunately, the too clumsy plot and low-quality comedy plots completely waste the hard work of the actors.
Personally, I can use four words to describe the "comedy feeling" of this work, that is, "excessive force". Whether it is from the idea of the film (from the perspective of the big frame), or from the details (small plot, bridge processing), there are some "overs". As the so-called "too far too much", excessive "comedy rendering" increases the entertainment, but weakens the appreciation, and the gains outweigh the losses.
Write at the end. Every time I see "Heroes Twilight", I always sigh. Thinking of Bruce, who is old and fading in the film, I have mixed feelings in that moment. Silently in my heart, I said, "The sunset is infinitely good, but it's only near dusk."
Director ★★★☆☆ (weak storytelling ability)
Actor ★★★★☆ (Under the premise of Bruce being so good, barely 4 stars)
Plot ★☆☆☆☆ (comparatively stupid, weak sense of hierarchy, poor relevance )
visual effects ★★☆☆☆ (vulgar version of GTO)
sound effects ★★★☆☆ (occasionally a few songs are quite interesting)
Recommended crowd: Bruce fans
