Sleepers, "juvenile offenders" in slang. I have always been entangled why not translate it into Sleeping Beauty. --|||
Introduced to Ying back then, the kid came back after reading it and started drooling at Brad Renfro. Renfro is the second actor to die young after Heath Ledger this year. Unfortunately, compared to Heath, not many people miss him. Hollywood seems to be reluctant to publicize too much about the negative textbooks of the sudden death from drug abuse after a year of fame. I think it's quite a pity. The performances in the three films of this child before the age of 15, The Client, The Cure and Sleepers are all quite amazing. Especially in Sleepers, I think he is better than Brad Pitt, the actor he grew up. (= = Suddenly discovered that every time Brad Pitt's movie, his childhood actors look very good. I will discuss it later.) In this movie, there are also three other child stars who are also amazing. The scene where Joe Perrino, who plays the young Lorenzo, went to the church to bid farewell to the priest before entering the prison, and crying on De Niro, has always been fresh in my memory. Unfortunately, this is also the most severely deformed movie of the child star that I know. None of TvT survives in appearance. In order to keep the little beauty left in your mind, please don't just Google, thank you.
This time I reviewed it, frankly, a little disappointed. The cruel youth in the movie in my memory is so vivid, but this time only exists in the first half. After the childhood narrative, the attractiveness plummeted. The performance of adult actors is fairly average. De Niro, Hoffman and other superstar lineups are just a guise for copying, and the playing time cannot be less. If it is not for their reputation, such a role is only a dragon at best. And why the second half of the story turned into a vulgar revenge story, and the Count of Monte Cristo made a point.
The author of the original novel has always insisted that this story is adapted from real people and has used his own name as the name of the protagonist in the book. Similar to the story of molesting boys, there are also Almodovar's "Bad Education" that many people are familiar with. A child who has suffered misfortune ends up being a murderer or a transgender person. Which tragedy is more thorough?
