Of the four kids, John is considered the sweetest one. When he was playing baseball, there was a disabled girl with no legs next to him who kept booing. Her behavior seemed to me not cute. But John couldn't bear to disappoint her, and deliberately lost to her brother, making her feel triumphant and proud. He looked at her a little like, and couldn't bear it. No wonder that even afterwards, Carol still said that there was something in John. John is also considered a promising child in a low-level community. He likes art. The priest also asked him to go to art classes.
The mistakes made by the four boys are basically the same mistakes made by boys at that age. Want to eat free hot dogs and dump pranks. Children can be cruel. But these boys are not evil by nature. They are just normal boys. Unfortunately, some mistakes can change a person's life. The price they paid was too great.
After becoming a man, John became the worst villain. The good side of him was taken away by the boy's house. What has not changed is the sad look in his eyes. Once a very sweet child, later became as cold as a stone. In fact, I feel incredible about the future success of the other two boys. It may be because the film did not account for their respective family backgrounds. Otherwise, generally speaking, they can only be blue-collar at most. Lorenzo's Stay Kindness film still has something to say. The relationship between him and the priest, as well as the care given to him by the Chinese teacher. I can only understand Mike's success as a desire for revenge.
The prison guards in the boy's house did more than imagined. I used to think that little girls are the most vulnerable and need to be protected. But why not the little boys? The boys’ childhood ended hastily, and their inner damage was permanent. At the end of the credits, Mike’s plan was successful, and the villains got their due end, but what can be changed? The lives of John and Tommy can no longer be rewritten, they continue to go back to be bad guys and die early. Mike and Lorenzo continue to return to their lives, lonely and broken.
That very sweet little boy, likes to draw, has a soft heart, likes to eat hot dogs, and likes to sunbathe on the rooftop with his good friends. He will never come back.
