Everyone has a "Babadou" in his heart

It’s been a long time since I wrote a film review. I’ve been so busy recently because of the company’s business! As a media advertising industry, I have been under a lot of pressure, and I have also experienced a collapse in the near future. Perhaps it is precisely because of this that I was deeply impressed when I saw Babadu last night. After it was over, it was difficult to calm down in my heart, and I revisited it again today.

Babadu, according to the movie, it is a hand-drawn book for children. In the book there is a monster named Babadu who is very dark and violent. However, it slowly appears in life, which threatens the safety of mother and child.. .......

First of all, first understand the background identities of the next two protagonists.
Mother, in the film, it can be seen that she is a gentle and loving mother. Although the back is darkened, it is not difficult to see that she is essentially a gentle woman. According to the clues in the film, before the accident, his mother was a hand-painted child writer and was very affectionate with her husband. However, due to a car accident on the way to deliver her to give birth, her husband died tragically and the child was born.
After the accidental death of her husband, she had to raise her children alone to support her family. She gave up her career as a freehand child-painting writer and became a nurse. She faced a group of elderly people with Alzheimer's disease every day. With a little fun and entertainment, her daily life revolves around children and work. (In the film, my mother’s hair is always messy, and I can see that she rarely takes care of herself.) I
learned from my girlfriends that her husband has been dead for seven years. During these seven years, her mother has been repeating the two-point line of life. She may not have time to go. Grief is forced to face all the troubles and complications brought about by reality, as well as children's unconsciousness. . . . .

In the film, I don’t know if there is an official like me who hates this bear kid in the beginning. Bear children often speak hysterically, their language is full of restraint, and even their behavior is violent. Most of the scenes in the film are accompanied by the piercing screams of bear children, which makes people particularly uncomfortable.
In fact, I personally think that the child is actually a true portrayal of the mother. The following content will be analyzed slowly...

After reading the introduction of the two protagonists, I believe everyone probably understands the background of the story. Since the mother's husband's tragic death was the day the child was born, the child bear never had a birthday on the actual birthday, and there was no birthday party. My mother also became particularly sensitive because she couldn't let go of her husband's death. It was her taboo for single mothers and husbands. Anyone who stepped into her mother would respond fiercely.
Why do I say that a child is a true portrayal of a mother? There is a saying that says "Mom is the child's best teacher". In fact, this sentence was a slogan for a public welfare program on CCTV a long time ago. But it is true. The child’s best character and cognition stage is completed by the company of his parents. Going back to this topic, wouldn’t the grief that my mother was unable to let go of for seven years show up at all? In fact, there are many places in the film that her mother has manifested her violent emotions, so her emotions have been slow for seven years. Slowly infiltrate the children, and then there is a situation in which the bear children are violent and hysterical when they encounter things.
It's just that the mother suppresses his emotions, and the child is innocent, he doesn't know what control is, so in the film he truly shows his mother's influence on him.
It is mentioned in the film that my mother was once a popular hand-painted writer for children, which also paved the way for the emergence of Babadu's book. In fact, Babadu was painted by his mother who split into the second personality under long-term repression, but the mother of the first personality did not know it. Later, the child found the book by accident, and only saw the hand-drawn book by Babadu at the request of the child.

After Babadu's discovery, slowly and sometimes nothing appeared in the lives of mothers and children. In fact, the struggle between the first personality and the second personality has already begun at this time. The first personality mother still wants to live a normal life, so she tore off Babadu, longing for everything to return to peace. However, due to the long backlog of pain and a high degree of mental weakness that caused the inner distortion, the second personality still existed rampantly, and the glued torn Babadu also painted a bloody ending. In fact, the latter part of the book is exactly the mother's true thoughts. It is not difficult to see that her mother loves her husband more than her children, so deep down she feels more or less that it was because the child was born that she killed her lover, leading to a miserable life now.
In the book, Babadou is a monster in a dress, and the father who has always appeared in the film is also in a dress. It can be seen that Babadou is actually the epitome of her husband, the demon in the mother's heart, and the so-called monster of the child.
The child felt that the Babadu monster was real, partly because the mother’s intentional or unintentional behavior made the child feel that it was because of herself that killed the father, invisibly forming a sense of self-blame; the other part was that the mother went to the basement to see the relics because she missed her husband. The hesitation of footsteps, door opening and crying in the middle of the night made the children think that these strange sounds were monsters, so the children made weapons to deal with the so-called monsters.
In fact, the so-called Babadu is a manifestation of the darkness and grief in a person's heart.

In the film, my mother saw Babadu when she went to the police station to report the crime. In fact, at this time, the second personality had already begun to slowly erode the first personality. In the camera close-up of the mother's hand, the mother's right hand is painted in black, and the color of Babadu is also painted with black charcoal, which also implies that the subsequent ending of Babadu was painted by the second personality mother. After the second personality left, the first personality discovered that the follow-up content was scared and burned, and the burned book never appeared again, so Babadu was not a devil.
Since my mother burned Babadu's book, she began to be in a trance. When Babadu runs into his mother's mouth at night, it means that the second personality has begun to completely occupy the performance of the first personality. The scared mother didn't dare to sleep and woke up her son to watch TV with her. TV was normal at first, but slowly began to become weird.
There were scenes of goblins and strange uneasiness, and then pictures of Babadu began to appear continuously, and all the pictures became Babadu. At this moment, it also shows that the dark side of the mother's heart is completely expressed, and the second personality defeats the first personality.

The mother of the second personality became neurotic, aggressive, swearing, and cruel to the child. But the ignorant child always felt that the black mother was possessed by the so-called Babadu, so he wanted to drive Babadu away to find his mother.

In the film, the grandmother next door said something: I know you are particularly uncomfortable at this time of the year." I don’t know whether it implies that my mother will completely collapse once a year at this time of the year. It is just because my girlfriend is broken off and annoying at work, the child is ignorant and depressed for many years. His grief worsened all this.
At the end when the mother was about to strangle the child, the child awakened the first-personal mother with his inner love and drove away the so-called Babadu. The mother of the first personality came back again. At the end, she began to avoid the topic of her husband, and even brought her children to a birthday party. This seems to be a normal step into a formal life but still reveals an insecure depression. Because the second personality did not disappear, but temporarily coexisted peacefully with the first personality.

Many people don't understand what the bowl of earthworms given in the last basement is. Therefore, in fact, perhaps earthworms are just a suggestive and obscure way of expression. What they really want to realize is the negative emotions and dark side brought by grief in their hearts.

Each of us has a Babadu in his heart, but without stimulation, it is still a sleeping baby. But when we can't let go of the gloom and negative emotions in our hearts, these energies are like food to provide nourishment for it, and slowly make it grow up and swallow the original us.

There was a saying: God gave you a face, but you made another face for yourself. "The true self and the external disguise struggle with each other, and the outcome is hard to distinguish.

Babadu is the other us. Sometimes the maliciousness between our thoughts may be the signal that our inner Babadu wants to wake up. As long as we are still alive. It will not leave, parasitizes under our skin.

In fact, the true courage is to overcome fear and inner darkness, learn to let go of yourself, but not to be fearless.

Finally, the film adopts the style of dark fairy tales, the style of painting Both are good. Babadu is similar to the faceless men in American urban legends. People are often afraid of word-of-mouth stories like urban legends. It makes people feel uneasy because they seem to be true. The front of the film is a little longer. Near the end of the climax part, there is basically no urine point, if the plot can be a little tighter, it might be better! The

above is only a personal opinion, not as a specific comment!

The Babadook quotes

  • Amelia: [Samuel comes out from hiding and Amelia shrieks like a banshee. Amelia starts approaching Samuel, but he starts wetting himself.] You little pig. Six years old and you're still wetting yourself. You don't know how many times I wished it was you, not him, that died.

Samuel: I just wanted you to be happy.

Amelia: [mocking Samuel] I just want you to be happy. Sometimes I just want to smash your head against the brick wall until your fucking brains pop out.

Samuel: [softly] You're not my mother.

    Amelia: What did you say?

Samuel: I said you're not my mother!

    Amelia: I AM YOUR MOTHER!

  • Samuel: It wasn't me, Mum! The Babadook did it!
