Because the plot is more brain-intensive, let's first introduce the identities of the characters and the purpose of the mission one by one.
The meaning of the spy list:
the fall of the Berlin Wall and the merger of East and West Germany. This was a major victory for the United States over the Soviet Union during the Cold War. Therefore, the strategic purpose of the United States is to ensure a smooth transition between East and West, and to prevent the spy list from appearing in the public eye. The Soviet Union's goal is to expose this list, create public opinion, hinder the merger of East and West Germany, or at least, after the merger, it can gain political advantage. Britain is an ally of the United States and is on the front line of the battle in this region, and it has indeed done a lot of shameless things. No matter from which point of view, this list cannot be allowed to fall into the hands of the Soviets.
CIA, United States Central Intelligence Agency:
The bearded old man, the real behind-the-scenes boss
Rowling, the protagonist of this film, is the undercover agent sent by the CIA to MI6 (MI6), and then pretends to be a three-sided spy who was "instigated" by the KGB. However, her CIA identity was not revealed until the end of the film. Most of the time, she was: the MI6 spy who was "instigated" by KGB, that is, the double agent mentioned below.
Brother Oil Head, the spy sent by the CIA to MI6. He is the key figure in making the plot reasonable.
The purpose of the mission sent by the United States: to recover the list of spies
MI6, MI6:
C, the head of MI6, the
bald man of MI6 , Rowling’s boss,
Zhan Yimei, the number one spy sent by MI6 to East Berlin.
James, intelligence officer of MI6.
The purpose of the mission of the British sent: to retrieve the list of spies and dig out the spies of the KGB in the organization.
KGB, Soviet KGB:
Bearded man, head of the Soviet spy agency.
Bakhtin, KGB agent.
The purpose of the Soviet mission: to recover the list of spies
French spy: Mummy, because of her role in "The Mummy 4", so let's call it that here. She and Zhan Yimei are in a cooperative relationship.
Little glasses: The list of spies for the East German intelligence agency officials who want to defect is from him.
Watch shop: CIA information station in East Berlin.
The watch shop "cousin" is also an intelligence officer for the CIA.
After clarifying the identity of the characters and the purposes of all parties, the editor adopts a narrative approach to explain this complicated movie to you. (The film uses flashbacks in Chinese style.)
At the beginning of the film, the MI6 intelligence agent James, who succeeded in instigating small glasses and holding a spy list, was shot and killed by KGB agent Bach, and the list fell into Bakhtin's hands.
MI6 sent Rowling to East Berlin and partnered with Zhan Yimei to grab back the spy list before KGB and find out the double agents hidden in his organization.
There are three points to explain here. 1. James and Rowling are underground lovers. Because James knew Rowling's true identity, Rowling could not instruct Bakhtin to kill James. In doing so, on the one hand, he kept his true spy identity from being discovered by MI6. On the other hand, blame KGB. Because her ultimate identity is the CIA, she can't kill the agents of American allies by herself.
2. MI6 sent Rowling to go because C had already doubted Rowling and suspected that she was the KGB spy hidden in MI6.
3. Rowling accepted the mission for two purposes:
A. Help the CIA get the list of spies.
B. Completely erase the evidence that you are a double agent.
Moving on to the plot, after Rowling arrived in East Berlin, KGB, who had been informed in advance, didn't know why Rowling had come back, so she picked it up first. But Rowling found herself being monitored and tracked by the French spy mummy and MI6 agent Zhan Yimei. In order not to expose the relationship between herself and KGB, Rowling suddenly ran away, resolved her "comrades" and successfully connected with Zhan Yimei.
After some investigation, Rowling found that things were not as simple as she thought. Zhan Yimei framed herself everywhere, and Bakhtin was also dead on the street.
Through the one-night stand with the French spy mummy, Rowling discovered that the original list had fallen into the hands of Zhan Yimei and that he had a private transaction with KGB. However, Zhan Yimei did not tell Rowling that she had obtained the spy list. Instead, she said that the list was lost. Only the little glasses of the East German intelligence officer remembered the contents of the list. Reluctantly, Rowling could only venture to escort the little glasses out of the border, but on the way, the little glasses were shot by Zhan Yimei, and KGB drove into the river and died.
There are three points to explain here.
1. Bakhtin did not turn in the list because although he is a KGB agent, he is also a moneyist. Bakhtin wanted to sell the list to the Americans, but Zhan Yimei eventually headed her head.
2. The reason why Zhan Yimei made a deal with KGB is because he has been in East Berlin for ten years and his values have been distorted. He believed that if the Berlin Wall fell and East and West Germany merged, there would be no meaning for him to continue to exist. Therefore, Zhan Yimei wanted to submit the list to MI6 as well as leak it to the KGB in order to maintain the balance between the two parties. Only by killing the little glasses, the list in his hand is the only information and it is valuable. At the same time, because he got the list, he also knew that Rowling's true identity was a CIA spy, and using KGB's hand to get rid of her was two birds with one stone.
3. Rowling protects the little glasses because James, who knows his identity, is dead. Then the little glasses are the only "living evidence" except for Zhan Yimei. If the little glasses do not die in the end, they must have been sent. In the hands of the CIA, Rowling had already discussed the plan with Brother Oil Head. In fact, in my opinion, killing small glasses is the best choice. You can kill even your lover James, why can't you kill the little glasses? This is to embody the humanitarianism of American imperialism, but it seems extremely unreasonable.
Continue to return to the plot. Zhan Yimei found that the French spy mummy had evidence of her dealings with KGB, so she killed the mummy. But he was killed by Rowling on the way to escape.
One thing to explain here is why Rowling killed Zhan Yimei. Because Zhan Yimei has a list of spies and he knows Rowling's true identity. Only by killing him can he blame him for being a double agent hidden in MI6, and then get rid of the suspicion, and finally retreat.
Continue the plot. At this point, the only thing Rowling needs to solve is the KGB boss-the bearded man. Because only by solving the bearded man, Rowling is a KGB spy can be completely erased. Rowling used the spy list to attract the bearded man to meet, and asked the oil head boy to put a gun in the ice bucket in advance. Who knows that the bearded man had learned from Zhan Yimei that Rowling was a spy for the CIA. After a fight, the bearded man was reimbursed, and Rowling left calmly.
Finally, the watch shop "cousin" sent Rowling on the plane, and on the plane was the real big man behind the scenes-the old bearded CIA man.
The relationship between the characters in this movie is intricate, and the plot setting is very brainstorming. The fighting scenes were clean and very real. The editor has already released a 6-minute fighting clip. Interested friends can check it out.
Charlize Theron continues her cold-hearted style in "Mad Max", but the editor feels that her appearance in this film is somewhat similar to Angelina Jolie's image in "Agent Shot".
There are many sex scenes between Charlize Theron and the mummy in the movie.
