The sensual and mysterious history on the sofa in the living room

It’s hard to imagine that David Lynch’s "Twin Peaks" could be popular in the United States that year, because the director, who is still weird and avant-garde even on the big screen, unreservedly brought his personal style into the public’s living room and sofa. In addition to the film's sensibility-driven lens language, the more important style of the film is the mysticism that Lynch works with the screenwriter and hits it off. Even today, this style is still more avant-garde artwork, let alone in the early 90s of the last century.

The plot promotion and suspense of the first season came from the murder case in this small town. A young girl was found wrapped in a plastic transparent bag and abandoned by the river in the deserted suburbs. FBI agent Cooper was ordered to investigate the murder case in the town. . However, in the first season, the final mystery of the homicide is more of a microphone. It doesn’t matter who the murderer is. What really matters is the details, characters, background, and mysticism surrounding this microphone. From the beginning to the transformation. I have seen the book "Two Peaks: A Mysterious History" by the screenwriter Frost, and saw the larger world view behind the story, as well as the tip of the iceberg in the town of Shuangfeng, which makes people more fascinated by everything in the town.

The casting of "Two Peaks" is almost a miracle. MacLachlan, who plays the role of Agent Cooper, has so many charming and silly temperaments, but at the same time exudes convincing insight. Gourmet Cooper enjoys coffee and pie seriously, but has to be immersed in the mysterious and evil atmosphere of the small town. This double-sided character is also a microcosm of the overall mysterious and humorous atmosphere of the entire TV series. And the charming female characters in the small town are all amazing, leaving almost the most beautiful images of them in Shuangfeng Town.

Unlike many suspenseful TV series and even movies nowadays, the plot promotion of "Double Peaks" is not purely rational reasoning, but more perceptual thinking. Cooper's psychic abilities, owls and dreams, countless weird words, and good taste of weird music, all of these promote the plot to a certain extent. In the face of all these sensibility, rationality is no longer important. And why such a film can be accepted by the public is really a great doubt. In the second season, the director who was forced to reveal the murderer due to pressure from various parties and the subsequent plot trend seemed to be something that was accepted by the public. However, such a compromised version of "Twin Peaks" is no longer the intention of David Lynch.
