TIMELINE

Past History -
Considering the history of animation, there have only been two animations before this. The first time was OVA in 1993 and 2000, and the second time was the theatrical version in 2007. Let's go back to the previous history.
OVA is adapted from the most popular third "Star Crusade". Of course, the subtitles of the first four books were taken when the original comics were released in the library, and there was no such subtitle at that time. In terms of animation alone, the quality of OVA itself can be said to be extremely excellent and outstanding. Kong Wu's powerful characters and insolent and smooth action scene paintings are masterpieces that are not inferior to today. However, OVA has several natural flaws for new audiences.
The first is that the background of the story comes from the third part, and the explanation of the first two parts is very insufficient, and it has the imprint of the era.
Next is Mr. Hayama Junichi who is the character design. It is well known that he used to be the original artist of "Beidou Shenquan" (painting supervisor of "Beidou Shenquan 2"), with a strong personal style. In fact, OVA's painting style is far from the original painting style, and does not show Araki-sensei The impact of the original painting style has even been criticized by the original party. (However, looking back at Mr. Yushan's original painting now, it has a different taste. Finally, the structure of the work is very strange, 1993 The production is the second half of the journey (the beginning of the TV animation "Egypt"), and the production in 2000 is the beginning of the third part. OVA also drastically modified the original plot, deleted many stand-ins, simplified a lot of battles, and added a lot of original transition plots. It is not very helpful for the audience to understand the original appearance of the work.
The 2007 theatrical version was adapted from the first plot of the original. The director of this theatrical version—yes, it’s Mr. Hayama Junichi again. STAFF is also almost the same team as the 2000 OVA. The character design of this work has been carefully set with reference to the original work. Compared with the TV version launched more than ten years later, the style of painting is closer to the original work without losing the commercial flavor. However, perhaps it was Mr. Yushan who was good at original painting and animation and tried to supervise for the first time. This theatrical version has lost control of the original plot. The first episode was forcibly compressed into 2 hours, but the first half was bland, Dior had been in contact with the stone ghost face for about 1 hour; the important supporting role SPW was deleted, and almost all the famous lines that everyone is familiar with in the future. Due to the fiasco at the box office and the request of the copyright owner, the film has not been released on DVD until today, and it has become a complete black history.
According to the speculation of relevant information, when the DVD-BOX of OVA was released overseas in 2008, due to the inappropriate description of the Islamic world, Shueisha and OVA producer AAPP publicly apologized, recalled the DVD and stopped selling it, even some original comics. The album was also discontinued, and it was not fully resumed in 2009 until the details were revised. As a result, the DVD of the theatrical version missed the release time.
The specific inappropriateness is mainly due to the original image of the villain DIO holding the Koran, and when the Huajingyuan used the French Emperor's barrier, it was originally standing on the Islamic-style spire, and was later changed to an iron tower due to Shueisha's self-defense. Subsequent comic book editions, letter-bound editions, and the third "Egypt Chapter" of the TV edition are all directly drawn as iron towers.

Shueisha's attempt to animate JOJO's first film since 2006 has suffered a fiasco. In fact, a PS2 game of the same name was launched at the same time as the theatrical version. A new beginning -
JOJO's first TV animation, which debuted in October 2012, was met with great doubts at the beginning.

Finally, there is the rough atmosphere of mystery reflected in the first two chapters of the work. Originally, it was quite difficult to compress all the 12 volumes of manga into 26 episodes, and there would inevitably be some moderate deletions. However, the first two episodes of the TV version had a lot of deletions and revisions, and the rhythm was fast. In addition, a large number of keyframes used the method of still painting, which was later called "Paper Shiba House" and was criticized. It can be seen that the budget for this film is really stretched.
However, the turning point of everything is also in Chapter 2. The author was out for something that weekend, so I had to go home on Monday to watch it. And the overall plot of the second part is smooth and linear, each episode has a good suspense, and there is not much ups and downs in perception. In contrast, the third animation is difficult to jump out of the rut of the unit drama.
The TV version of the first issue not only won the due popularity due to its excellent performance in the middle and late stages, but also detonated the popular stalks and the long-lost purchasing power of the original party. Even if it is not a JOJO audience, it will be swiped by "I am not a human being" for a while. Not to mention that each episode provides a very high density of famous lines. In the end, I have to admit that JOJO fans are a small circle in China, but in just half a year, they have expanded into a large circle, and they have become a very sticky group.
There are many things to write about in the first phase of the animation - the unique color matching style, the excellent music brought by the two veteran composers Matsuo Hayao and Taku Iwasaki, and the performances of many voice actors. Many aspects constitute this work with outstanding shortcomings and advantages, but it is so dazzling and so special that it is impossible to forget.
