BBC produced, honestly don't deceive me

After six episodes, the BBC has shown its ability to master the big subject. I haven't read Toon's original work, and every time I'm scared off by the thick tome. The BBC's remake also gave me an indirect understanding of this famous book, although it has a strong British flavor. The BBC's pictures are always exquisite and beautiful. The changes of each family and the fate of each character are quietly presented in front of the eyes against the background of the big era. Pierre's ignorance at the beginning, self-doubt and self-disgust, and then after the war, his spirit and personality have been reborn into a real person. The show comes naturally, which is also my favorite part of the show. The short six episodes have to express many grand scenes, and the rhythm is not rushed or slow, and the details are also there, relying on the screenwriter's ability to screen and refine. For domestic drama remakes with slightly larger themes, the number of episodes produced is really scary. Empty details pile up, that is, neither the content nor the lines, as if a big production is a long drama with many characters. The real big production has nothing to do with the length. We have so many famous novels, when can we make a good work with our heart?

Anna Pavlovna Scherer: But mon cher ami, how can you be so calm? This... this monster, Bonaparte - he's crossed into Austria now and... who's to say that Russia won't be next.

  • [last lines]

Pierre Bezukhov: [voice-over] They say sufferings are misfortunes. But if I was asked, would I stay as I was before I was taken prisoner, or go through it all again? I would say for God's sake, let me be a prisoner again.

Pierre Bezukhov: Come, let's sit and eat and give thanks for our good fortune.

Pierre Bezukhov: [voice-over continued] When our lives are knocked off course, we imagine everything in them is lost. But it is only the start of something new and good. As long as there is life, there is happiness. There is a great deal... a great deal still to come.
