The protagonists Ray, Ani, Paul and the three brothers Xiao Feng, Xu Zhu and Duan Yu in the late Southern Song Dynasty have a dramatic interweaving. They were originally characters walking in their respective rivers and lakes, and were linked together by a sudden event. In the end, they all died because their inner obsessions were destroyed. What Ray cared about most in his life was the life of his child, and in the end he was hunted to death just because he looked at the child one more time. He loves his wife, but he can't let go of the past when his wife was raped, so that he hurts her more and more again and again, and in the end he doesn't confirm that Zed is his own flesh and blood. This has a similar fate to Xiao Feng back then. He struggled with his life experience all his life, hurt his favorite girl again and again, and finally sacrificed his sweetheart for love. Paul is more like Xu Zhu, who has been confused and threatened by his gay identity, and the last time he was threatened to lose his name because he was afraid to face his sexuality. Ani, like Duan Yu, is a person who dares to love and hate in his own world, but in the end, it is also because of his love for Ray that he cannot be separated from his yin and yang.
But in this season, my favorite character is Frank, who is very much like the Murong Fu who is crazy about restoring his country. The California high-speed rail, like Fuxing Dayan, is a hurdle that Frank cannot overcome. For this, he almost gave up the girl who loves him the most, the brothers by his side, he could have put everything down and left, but in the end he was afraid of losing his last hope and lost his life.
There are no winners in this arena, only the survivors, and all the survivors are just lingering in this dilapidated sunshine. . .
