killer's loneliness

This one does a great job of annotating Melville's gangster flick. Although it is a reality-themed film, it is in the same vein as his previous films. Solo killer. This is a movie about loneliness. deep loneliness. The second time I saw the film in the cinema, I chewed on the meaning of loneliness over and over again.
Loneliness is manifested in groups. If there is only one person in the world, there is no such thing as loneliness. Loneliness is when you carry a secret that you cannot share with the world. The secret was sacred at first, and as more and more things were done for it, you slowly became corrupted by the secret, and you became more and more out of tune with your surroundings. Until you die, you will not feel tragic at this time, only lonely and meaningless. Killers face the police, and members of the underground resistance face the occupying forces. They live underground and cannot see light. Their deaths were even kept secret.
Every movie has great chapters. These fragments become indelible memories. Looking back on a movie, it is often found that the narrative cannot be narrated, and the jumping of the movie cuts off the possibility of rational retelling. Originally, text is superfluous in the film. If it can be expressed in words, then why do you need a camera, so it is best to use the footage to reveal it.
The following two sets of shots are unforgettable.
1.
Ventura was in a hotel in England. Pack your luggage, open the box and put the clothes in one by one, neatly. Next to him was the same neatly spread bed and the humble interior. The protagonist has no expression on his face and concentrates on this trivial task. The lens takes a long time to record this process. Although there is no need to explain the promotion of the plot, the tone of loneliness is diffused. In his rigorous and rigid actions, this person has no unnecessary actions and no sloppiness. He takes everything that belongs to him into his body, and things that do not belong to him cannot enter.
2.
Or Ventura's signature face, walking on the road, London was attacked by air. He dodged into a pub. Inside is a group of soldiers socializing. He looked indifferently at the men and women in military uniforms in every corner. They looked at him too, he was an outlier. Under the shadow of war, he could not integrate with this world. Warm whispers, soft singing and dancing, do not belong to him. Ventura's eyes widened and she looked at her surroundings, bewildered. His calmness and restraint became clumsy, useless and meaningless. When he retreated back to the dark alley, and was tightly wrapped by the night, he was considered to have returned to the world that belonged to him. Loneliness was his only layer of protection.

There is no good or evil here. This film tells the story of how a group of people were corrupted by loneliness and war and finally died

The best movie I've seen this year, a movie that subverts the revolutionary history of the 20th century. In this way, Wu Yusen really just learned the fur, and Lao Du still lacks the heat.

It's like watching them leave one by one, watching on the big screen can no longer hold back the tears like the first time, even if there is no scene that directly depicts the battlefield and forced confessions, the cruelty is still in the director's bone-chilling, extreme restraint, The high-contrast technique is shown to stab the heart and the lungs. Even if the dawn is faint, I can still believe that it will shine in the sky after all, not only because of the pioneers who did not care about their lives, but also because of someone like the one who gave you a windbreaker when he was looking for change. the brave barber shop owner

Army of Shadows quotes

  • Philippe Gerbier: See you later, Comrade.

    Legrain: ...You're a communist?

Philippe Gerbier: No. But I can still have comrades.

  • Claude Ullmann dit 'Le Masque': Still thinking about the others?

[referring to the resistance fighters, who, like him, were targets in the German shooting gallery]

Philippe Gerbier: No, I was thinking of the officer who was sure I'd run too. Like a scared rabbit...
