Overall not bad

Although pseudo-documentaries have become a common method for horror films in recent years, I have to admit that this shooting method can still be scary even though it is used badly.
After "Blair Witch" carried forward the pseudo-documentary, from "Death Video" to the field of zombies, and then to the mental hospital involved in "Graveyard Encounter", the content of pseudo-documentary is constantly innovating. This time, It came to the pyramids of Egypt.
There are many good things about this movie, just list a few.
1. Some places are scary enough, bloody enough, and surprising enough.
2. It is quite innovative to apply the form of pseudo-documentary to the pyramid.
3. The set inside the pyramid is well done.
4. The addition of the face-burning man/housekeeper/33cm in "American Horror Story" makes the movie icing on the cake.
5. The rhythm of the film is tight.
Many places in the film are still quite scary, such as the moment after the entrance to the pyramid is just opened, and the cat inside breaks the camera.
But there are some places where it's a little bit cliché, and the audience can guess what's going to happen next, like when they leave the injured mechanical engineer behind, I don't even have to think about it and know that he will be dead in a while; and Nora In the part where she was buried in the sand, it was also expected by the audience that she stretched out her hand at the end; even at the end, everyone could guess that Nora would be caught in the end.
However, the film does bring out the mysterious and terrifying side of the pyramid, with labyrinthine structures, unpredictable traps, unknown creatures, and more.
"The Pyramid of Death" gave me a 90-minute thrilling tour of the pyramid, and I also love pyramids or something, so there are many personal factors in giving this movie such a high score.
Let me say something about the shortcomings of this movie.
1. The special effects are not realistic enough. When Anubis finally appeared, the wolf face looked a little fake, like it came out of the game, and so did the group of cats. If the special effects can be a little more powerful, this movie will be even more brilliant.
2. The protagonists' IQs make people anxious. After the soldier died, there was a scene where the soldier's machine gun was on the ground, but no one thought to pick it up; after the mechanical engineer was injured, everyone else left, at least one person should stay with him Come on; when Nora and the photographer climbed the ladder, they kept shouting, for fear that Anubis could not find them; in the end, Nora saw the exit, and slowly swallowed, normal people see the light even if they are tired again. If you are afraid, you should run as fast as you can...
This movie has its advantages and disadvantages, but in my opinion, its advantages are still the majority. If the director can be more attentive, the effect will be better.

Inferior horror movie, open the barrage to watch and relax

Rotten, life-threatening, let the drone in and it broke in the middle, and said that he was worried about losing money. If you have to drag everyone in to find it, this is fine. Everyone was killed

The Pyramid quotes

  • Holden: [on a video recording] This pyramid, unlike any structure other I've ever encountered, seems to have been built with the express purpose of keeping whatever is inside from escaping. If you come down here... bring guns.

  • Holden: Neither benign nor merciful
