In 1996, I started my university life in Jinan, the provincial capital. My movie watching career also kicked off.
There is a cinema on the other side of the campus called Qilu Cinema, which offers overnight movies for college students. College students have enthusiasm, time, and energy. The only thing they don’t have is the contents of their wallets. It is a good thing to put a few great movies for ten dollars a night in a row.
As soon as we entered the school gate, we were greedy for the off-campus theater, but the freshman and sophomore girls were still reserved, watching movies in the school activity room honestly, and didn't dare to do the thing of not coming home at night. By the third year, the courage only grows up. One weekend, I (the fifth) hit it off with the second and third children in the dormitory, and finally went out to watch an overnight movie.
I remember that there were several movies that were shown consecutively that night. They were all wonderful, but now the only thing I remember clearly is the "Tornado" that I will mention today. Qiu is a female doctor. She has an amazing team who has been chasing tornadoes together for more than ten years. Their goal is to understand the secrets of tornadoes and advance the forecast time from three minutes to fifteen minutes. Bill, the most talented man in the team, becomes Jo's husband. Bill conceived an exciting technical solution-named "Doroth", it is like a bright future, illuminating the hope of the future. But can the dream really come true? What kind of confusion and pain does the unfulfilled dream bring to life? ——I don't know this question, nor did the movie mention it, but this pain caused the gifted Bill to completely give up his dream and resolutely abandon his promise.
This is the background. The story in the movie actually started when Bill returned to the team. Bill returned to the team, with his new fiancée Marissa, a new identity, a new truck... He came back to ask Qiu to sign a divorce agreement and finally complete his new life, but the Qiuhe team that insisted on his dream has been completed. "Doroth". In that familiar team, in the face of the dawn of victory, Bill's enthusiasm, courage and dream were once again activated! After going through hardships, they finally succeeded. I remember that moment, everyone was reveling, and the coveted laboratory and career were about to be realized. Jo and Bill were happily "competing" for the position of laboratory administrator... They were so good-matched, it was hard to imagine, what else could they do? Separate them? !
Everyone has to answer the question of what is happiness or fulfillment in life. "Interests and pursuits, abilities and achievements" are almost everyone's answer. But for Bill, there is an insurmountable gap between happiness, completeness and pain and confusion. It is the "persistence" of Qiuhe's team that helps him to make a leap. This kind of persistence is not easy. It transcends utility, regardless of success or failure. Life is the fuel, regardless of risk, to move forward courageously-so we should call it the "persistence of life."
This perseverance in life is something more valuable than talent. It is an arduous achievement and career, an indispensable spiritual force. The word we often say-"faith", is the same kind of power. Today, many years later, I solemnly recommend this movie to my daughter and watch it with her. I hope she can have her own life dream. If she is lucky, she will find a team and partner with the same dream. Wish her Have this power.
Me too.
