Facing the wife and son in front of him, he must be very happy, which seems to be more determined to complete the family responsibilities in place of his dead comrades. He has a funny conversation with his wife, he seems to be manly, and he leads the villagers to heavy tobacco. At the time of harvest, he was implicated in a murder case and went to obey the judge's judgment. The wife unraveled the truth in order to keep him alive, she said because she loved him more than her husband. So he is not his husband. Almost the judge wants to rule that he is not her husband and can be released, but he is determined to continue to play his husband. To be honest, her husband died because of that murder, and it seems cruel to let an innocent person pay for it now. I don't understand why his promise to the villagers' land is valid... I only know that he will be sad when he dies, even if he is not her husband, he can still live together. In the end, before he died, he couldn't see his wife. He anxiously said that he was not ready. He called his wife's name, and he felt at ease when he saw her. But it's all over. He just admitted that he was her husband, and he was hanged. I don't think this is what everyone wants to see.
