This is not a western painted ghost story

The first time I saw John Frankenheimer's film, and it was Cult Film in the 1960s, it really gave me an unexpected surprise! The most avant-garde photography among fans is probably the most avant-garde photography, and the series of distorted facial features from the opening scene are enough to scare off the jaw! As for the use of fisheye lenses and ultra-wide-angle lenses that appeared many times in the film, it was repeatedly imitated and learned by countless directors who continued to pursue the true meaning of art in the future, such as "Fallen Angel", "Addictive", "Inland Empire"...

Although It is an American sci-fi thriller theme, and the director's handling of many scenes has a strong European literary style, such as the paragraph of the wine goddess carnival. Part of the scene is actually stained with Antonioni's breath, such as the dialogue between the hero and heroine on the beach. The practice of using two actors to play the same role is truly amazing, more than 10 years earlier than Bunuel's "Hazy Desire".

The gist of the film is not out of date for the present. Changed a face, but the inner mind and behavior habits are difficult to change. This is not a Western story about ghosts, but a profound philosophy that makes people ponder. Instead of giving me a second life, it is better to grasp and cherish everything in front of me.
