More imagination

After reading some comments, some parts fit my mind, and some may not be as I thought after reading them. This movie is the fifth movie of Wes Anderson that I watched. Because of the time sequence, the experience is different. This one travels through Darjeeling, and I feel that there are more aspects that make me think and think. Perhaps I am more concerned about family relationships, so I feel more.

I think this is a movie about human relations. The relationship between the three brothers, the relationship with the parents, and the relationship with other people. The movie is actually not very "complete", and many backgrounds are not explained. For example, the boss is rich, the second is poor, the third should be financially better, the boss is a bit strong and arrogant, the second is a bit weak and hesitant, and the third is a bit slutty and decadent. Their parents are either divorced or separated for many years, and the relationship is not good. Life. Father drove a classic Porsche car and used LV suitcases. He was old-school and rich. One can imagine the consequences of raising three children for such an old-school, rich and conservative white American man, that is, the problem of three children. The boss succeeded in his career, with a shoe of 3,000 dollars and a belt of 6,000 dollars. He arranged this spiritual journey to India and paid for the whole journey. The two brothers actually came to take the boss's trip. The boss's strong selfishness is reflected in his desire to control, he is harsh on the assistants he hires, and he controls his brother's freedom. But the journey of the soul is just a cover, and the boss is stubborn about the mother's long-term distance and even the husband's funeral does not appear, which shows the depth of the gap between the parents. This trip secretly wanted to see my mother and cracked the inextricable complex in my heart.

The three brothers who had been separated by a lot of personality conflicts, it was difficult to reconcile, a lot of troubles occurred on the train, and they were finally driven off the train. This is the first paragraph. The turning point is that the three rescued the child who fell into the water, and also the three brothers, one of whom died. This action to save others also saved them, and for the first time they had such a high degree of understanding. In the silent care of Indians, they felt the return of kindness and gratitude, and their hearts were purified. Attending the funeral of the dead child, seeing people's solemn grief and mourning, and thinking of their performance at the funeral of his father, my heart was touched. On the way to their father’s funeral, they behaved like a son of man, vying for their father’s car and suitcase, paying attention to their mother and completely forgetting the father’s funeral. An important unappeared protagonist in the movie is their dead father. Their three brothers and their mother are all affected by their father, which may be negatively affected.

When the three brothers got into the car, they drank their medicines, and they took drugs. Americans, aren't they typical of modern people who are often sick? The second child is afraid of the child who is about to be born, and wants to divorce and get rid of his father's responsibilities. The third child is a gloomy literary man who writes novels. He has been checking the messages of his ex-girlfriend, hoping to get back together, but he indulges on the train. The three brothers with mental problems may each represent a modern mental illness. Although they tried to take drugs and tried to find a solution in religious spiritual practice, they failed in the early stage. They do not respect people and lack the ability to love. They are selfish and indifferent, greedy for pleasure, chasing benefits, fearing responsibility, making it difficult for them to truly establish good relationships with others, loneliness and cold eroding their lives and health, and falling into a morbid state. Perhaps their father was such a person, and his mother could not bear such a sick life, and went away to seek spiritual happiness. Their mother seems to have found it.

Of the three brothers, only the eldest stubbornly wanted to see his mother at first. But they are all inclined, the mother did not want to see them. Because for many years, their mother and child have not seen each other or contacted each other. Although deep in their hearts, they longed for maternal love, but they couldn't get a response. The boss drove into the wall and scarred himself, which may be the cause of the mental breakdown. He came to find his mother, seeking to save himself.

The three brothers experienced the funeral of an Indian child and established understanding. Just before boarding and leaving India, they unanimously decided to satisfy their desires and go against their mother's wishes to meet their mother. In the monastery, they met their mother, but struggled to get the answer, and the scene was not very happy. Mother tells them not to use words to communicate with others, tells them not to complain about others, to abandon the burden of the past, and start anew life in the future. The next day, the mother left. The three brothers were a little bit lost, but got enlightenment and climbed to the top of the mountain and finally completed the unfinished ritual religiously. In order to catch the train, they threw away their father's box, discarded the burdens of the past, and went back to their lives with ease.

This is the whole story. A spiritual journey, perhaps a place with a strong religious atmosphere, is indeed more spiritually sacred. For modern people who lack awe, religion can provide some good morals and value supplements, and it is a medicine. But fundamentally, human diseases need to be comprehended and acted to be rescued by themselves.

This is a movie that gives people a lot of imagination. So be it.

Compared to Bottle Rocket, this Darjeeling is easier to accept and has a more obvious stylization. All the protagonists seem to have traveled through ten other movies, heavy and wet, until they are dried by the scorching sun of an Indian journey, and become light and gorgeous.
