A neurotic writer separated from his wife, a simple story of a split personality. The movie gave the audience this stalk without surprise, and then uncovered the stalk. Too weak and simple, although the movie is not boring and empty, of course it is important to have Johnny Depp to attract the box office.
Although it is a Stephen King novel, the text is really different from the picture. The subtle psychological description in the text can make a book, but it is difficult to show in the movie. This has nothing to do with Johnny Depp's performance, even David Koepp It is full of suspense that can't be adapted. This is an inevitable problem in adapting psychological suspense dramas.
As a remake, such a subject seems to be uncomfortable. Moreover, this suspenseful reasoning stalk itself has been used badly, and there are many bad Hong Kong dramas that can be seen everywhere. I watched this movie in the middle of the night, and I didn't think there was any so-called horror at all, but when the dog was killed, I paid too much attention and was startled by the sound.
There are many remakes of Stephen King's works, good and bad, and the most famous of them is of course [Shawshank's Redemption]. This landmark remake should not be surpassed, and of course this movie is far from it.
