Cold War Climax Movies

I read the original work when I was in middle school, and once wanted to be called the Tom Clancy of China, but unfortunately, his old man turned around, and a lot of YY writers appeared in China.

Although many sections in the novel have been deleted due to length reasons, the film itself is still quite exciting, but it is a pity that the film is a bit difficult to understand for people who have no knowledge of the Cold War. And because the director and the producer are more pursuing "realism", the whole film feels a bit dull, but I believe people who are familiar with military knowledge or submarine warfare, such as me, seem to be more interested in it. The general rule is that if military movies have no women or only embellished women, it will not be too bad.

There are many details in the film that are worth noting. One is that the first shot of the Red October sailing is a full-scale model, but under the shell is a tugboat. All underwater shots were actually taken in smoke. Sean Connery’s Russian is a problem, and he wears a wig as Captain Ramis. Most of the Russian sailors are descendants of Russian immigrants from the United States. In addition to their looks, many of them do not even speak Russian. James Earl Jones, who plays the CIA director, is the actor who voiced Darth Vader in Star Wars.

I'm not interested in the war theme, but it's still a good movie. It's a bit embarrassing to look back at the special effects of the movie.

The imagination is very rich, but unfortunately there are still many loopholes for a military fan like me. Can a typhoon-level underwater speed of less than 20 knots make that kind of evasive action? Do you think you are an Alpha-class underwater 20+ power train!

The Hunt for Red October quotes

  • Jack Ryan: [thinking out loud - while slamming his hand on the table] You son of a bitch!

Jeffrey Pelt: [Mildly] You want to add something to our discussion, Doctor Ryan?

  • Jack Ryan: Could you launch an ICBM horizontally?

Skip Tyler: Sure. Why would you want to?
