The current state of morality

So far, I have watched Hou Mo's "Afternoon Love", "Green Light", and this "One Night in the Mude Family", and this is undoubtedly my favorite one. The first is the splendid, logical, philosophical nature of the dialogue, and at the same time it has religious connotations. This is a task that can only be accomplished after a person who has read poetry and books thoroughly and has an in-depth study and grasp of the world and people.
The male protagonist comes from a Catholic family, and he said from the beginning that his Catholicism was inherited, and the implication was not his choice. This made him hesitate for a long time. On the one hand, he does have a page of Catholic beliefs. For example, he does not want to have sex with a woman, and he will love when he feels love; on the other hand, he says that he will not sacrifice his favorite happiness for the sake of principle, and as long as it is worth it, he will put it Disregard the principle. The subsequent story between him and the two women illustrates this well. On the first night, Houmo put him with a beautiful, elegant MILF who made it clear that they could have physical contact. He refused, and kept protecting himself from the shock until he took off this moral robe when he saw the mature woman's body in the early morning of the next day. But the milf rejected him because you didn't respect your inner needs, to the effect. This is the first time morality has been defeated by carnal desire.
After leaving the mature woman's house, the man quickly discovered the girl who had held his soul in the church, and without a second's hesitation, he started the pursuit. Since then, he has been dealing with the two women. There's even talk of marriage with MILFs; it's a total little refreshment when it comes to girls. The girl refused from the beginning, to have to accept. Because the man said that he knew from the first moment he saw you that I was going to marry you. Obviously, it is not easy to get rid of such a man, not to mention that his conditions are good. It was not until the relationship with the girl was established that he forgot about the mature woman, and finally learned that the mature woman was leaving to another city without thinking of saying goodbye.
In this triangular relationship, we don't feel the existence of morality. The only thing that makes us remember is how a man relentlessly pursues the woman he likes, and, when the result is unclear, he steps on two beds, cruising between two women.
This is the moral status quo, sensitive, fragile, vulnerable, yet present all the time, everywhere. Morality is attached to us by tradition, not something we choose, and we have no choice. Just like what the movie said, even if you don’t believe in God, it is a kind of belief. Everyone lives in such a fixed frame. Therefore, once encountering human nature, morality immediately flees, but we cannot say that morality has no influence on people. The man in the film said that once he loves him, he can guarantee that he will love him forever. This is what the movie finally showed. A few years later, the man and the girl he loves, and now his wife takes their son on vacation. Even if they meet the rival in love back then, the girl graciously says that the past is gone, and there is no entanglement. I mean, the man doesn't have any regrets or signs of changing his mind.
Therefore, morality can still affect people.

For the male protagonist, the appearance of pushing the camera and the narration is the wisdom that breaks the principle, and for the film, it is the dimensionality that breaks the time and space of the plot. For this reason, I added a little favor to this dull-looking movie. In this adventure of life, should the organs be exhausted, or should it be difficult to be confused, you can bet right and I will lose.

Rohmer's "talking" is manifested in the complicated inner drama of middle-aged men's intellectuals, including marriage, religion, philosophy, morality, men and women, and then his interest and affection for Pascal increased greatly.

My Night at Maud's quotes

  • Jean-Louis: Women have taught me a lot, morally speaking. That sounds...

    Maud: A little vulgar.

Jean-Louis: Yes. It would be silly to generalize about particular cases but each girl revealed a new moral problem which I had never faced up to before. It would be good for me to be shaken out of my moral lethargy.

Maud: You could have ignored the physical aspect for the moral.

Jean-Louis: Yes, but, the moral aspect would never have arisen if - Well, I know it's never impossible but the physical and moral are inseparable, let's face it.

Maud: Perhaps it was the trick of the devil?

Jean-Louis: Then I was caught. Yes, in a way, I was caught.

  • Maud: I am nasty, too.
