"Future Water World" can actually be regarded as a milestone in the history of modern movies. There are really not many movies with such a bad reputation and box office. The big production costing 200 million only recovered 38 million box office. Say this movie It is not too much to be a milestone in the box office fiasco.
But this movie left an ingenious concept: where will the evolution of mankind look like?
The birthplace of life is the ocean. After experiencing a disaster caused by excessive human waste, the poles melted, the sea level rose, and the civilization created by humans disappeared. In order to adapt to this change in living environment, Seawalker evolved gills and webs. He used his ability to breathe underwater and dived into the seabed to exchange fresh water and tomato seedlings from the sunken city. The appearance of Seawalker represented human beings. An evolutionary direction. But should mankind return to the birthplace of life again?
The tattoo on the back of a girl named Chirona actually represents the nature of human beings. Only land is the foundation of human existence. The dust returns to the dust, just as the old man who passed away in the movie is pushed into the quagmire, the ultimate goal is to integrate his body with the "mud" on the artificial island. In legends around the world, the origin of mankind is almost all related to soil. This reflection of human civilization shows that the relationship between mankind and soil is close and inseparable.

I am not sure if there is such a stone tablet on Mount Everest. I Knowing that this refers to the first attempt by humans to climb Mount Everest. Indeed, when all the lands in the world have been submerged, what else is most likely to be exposed to the water except here? God, Nuwa, or some other god created life out of clay. Is it possible for human beings to leave this land? Director Kevin Costner seems to have given an answer to "natural selection", but he did not direct the audience to the direction that humans will no longer maintain their current forms. Humans will eventually find the land, to be continued. With the ancient survival mode and evolutionary direction, this is a very contradictory point in the film.
This is a prophetic movie. It is a kind of imagination of the future of human beings. It provides a possibility. What we can do is to reflect on what we are doing. Is it providing a platform that will become a reality for the possibilities offered in the movie? What should we do? In order to make this possibility only a possibility.
