After you are used to watching American fast-paced series, you should really watch this film. You say it is a medical drama, as if it conveys more warmth, responsibility and love. After watching it, it will make you want to go to more Learn about the development of the medical system (directly facing doctors and patients, continuously tracking the entire pregnancy process, giving birth with family members); British social conditions in the 1950s (East London?), and the level of technological development (bicycles, telephones, cars? Industrialized progress?), women's social status and living conditions, and the fashion trends of that era (see the clever combination of hairstyles, skirts, and scarves), because the midwives in casual clothes looked very dignified and glamorous.
Many films are more convenient to watch movies or series than to read books, but after watching this film, I want to read the original book, but it seems that there is no translation. I really hope this is not so cold, and more people understand and explain the story behind it.
