"Become a King" is the first non-musical animated feature film after the Disney Renaissance in 1990.
In fact, the film was originally set to be a traditional Disney music film, and the earliest title was "The Kingdom of the Sun".
There were originally two directors, Mark Dindal and Roger Allers (director of "The Lion King").
The earliest story setting is completely different from the current one. The earliest "Kingdom of the Sun" story is basically "Prince and the Poor", and Sting wrote 6 songs for the movie (the final version of "Turning the King" was cut only 2 songs left).
Among the six songs, in addition to the opening song "Perfect World" and the theme song "Fun Friend and Me" reserved for the feature film, there is also a "Snuff Out The Light" sung by the villain, and a love song due to male and female duet "One Day She will love me" (In the original story, the actor and heroine who hide their identities have emotional scenes).
These songs are all very nice, probably because Disney also felt it was a pity to abandon it. Although it was cut in the hot feature film, these songs have been included in the "Transformed King" OST.
The plot of the first version of "The Kingdom of the Sun" is probably:
The king and a farmer look alike, so they exchange identities, and the king is turned into an alpaca by the witch Izma.
The farmer fell in love with the king's fiancee, and the king who became an alpaca fell in love with the girl who herd the alpaca.
The two couples went through adventures and worked together to defeat the witch Izma.
The trial screening of the first version of "Empire of the Sun" received mediocre feedback, and the project was seriously overdue. So that Roger Allers, one of the directors, left the project, leaving Mark Dindal to make drastic changes to the script and the film: completely adapted the original story, and deleted the original story of the farmer and the heroine who looked like the king (so There is no heroine in the film?), a few songs and song and dance passages are deleted, and a lot of comedy elements are added.
As a fan of Disney's traditional animation, I personally still like the style of musical films, and I feel a pity for the deleted song and dance passages.
The current "Transfiguration King" has a lot of laughs and cute characters. But I still can't help thinking, what would it be like the traditional Disney music film "The Kingdom of the Sun"? Especially the love song " One Day She'll Love Me " sung by a man and woman duet , if it is really shot, it will become a classic.
The abridged song "One Day She'll Love Me" (English to Chinese)
This song is a duet between Pacha, a farmer who turned into a king, and Nina, the king's true fiancée.

I'd never imagined before that the world could be turned on it's head
I'd never have thought to be here in this place
I'd never have dreamt that in love
I'd be lost and so easily led
I guess I was caught by that hint of a smile on her face
I didn’t expect my world to be disrupted in this way,
I didn’t expect that I would fall here too,
I didn’t expect that I would be lost and helpless in the face of love,
I think it was probably because of the slight smile on her face.
I thought I was happy When my life was as easy as pie
But that was the past Of an ignorant youth
I'm falling in love with the girl but I'm forced to be living a lie
And she'd never love mew If she knew the truth
Although I think the simple life in the past may be quite happy,
But that was the past of youth and ignorance.
I fell in love with a girl, but had to live in a lie.
Once she knows the truth, she will never love me.
Is it asking too much
If I pray for a miracle, miracle that one day she'll love me
One day she'll say I care
I don’t know if this is too greedy,
If I pray for a miracle, pray that one day she will love me,
Pray that one day she will say "I care".
Although he's changing day by day
He finds these tender words of love impossible to say
He walks in the room and I'm never quite sure
If he's trying to be somebody else
I'm liking him better that he's not his arrogant self
Although he changes every day,
He always found it difficult to speak sweet words,
He broke into my life and I am not sure if he is posing.
I think I still prefer him to be less arrogant.
Perhaps I'm expecting too much
Of a miracle, miracle
One day he'll love me
One day he'll say I love you
And I will love him until I die
Maybe I have too much hope
I hope there will be a miracle, one day he will love me,
One day he will say "I love you", and I will love him until I die.
Distant Star
Cast your light on my life
Star in the far sky
Shine your light on my life
I didn't anticipate feeling the power of love in this way
And day by day, We've never been closer than this, and I find myself daring to pray
We'll find these tender ways of love impossible to disobey
Never thought that I would be so shocked by the power of love.
Day after day, we have never been so close, and I finally plucked up the courage to pray.
We will realize that the power of this love cannot be violated.
One day she'll love me
One day he'll say I love you
And I will love her
Until the moment our hearts stop beating
And we are light
One day she will love me,
One day he will say "I love you",
And I will love her too,
Until our heart stops beating,
Until we become that beam of light.
This song is an episode written by Sting for the 2000 Disney animation "Become a King." However, the love plot was deleted from the movie, and the song did not appear in the movie. Only the song was included in the original soundtrack released later.
