why don't you leave?

The documentary "Born in a Brothel" tells the story of a female photographer helping the children of prostitutes in India's red-light district to escape the bottom of life through photography. Later, only one of the eight children, Avijet Halder, is currently studying at the New York University Film School. One of the girls has become a prostitute. Director Kaufman said he had tried to dissuade her, but to no avail.

After watching the film, my first reaction was to ask these children, why didn't you leave? Don't want to leave or can't?
Later, the conversation between the two children repeated in my mind, and I understood the core reason:

"When I was two years old, he married my mother. Then he got into the habit of taking drugs." Good man! He used to be very fat, and he could take down two people at once! He is very famous, and he is now." When he said this, the little boy's face was filled with a rare bright smile, and he was very proud. "Now my mom's gone, and he's doing drugs all day." The boy returned to his gloomy expression. "That's why no one cared about him." "But even from then on, I tried to love him a little bit."

Another little girl was reprimanded by her mother who was a prostitute when she went to work, "I have to ask my mother Yea, did you know how to go to work? Watch me throw you out, little bastard!". Later, she faced the camera and said, "I like her, but she speaks venomously. But, it's okay! Who called her my mother? I know what she does, and it makes me uncomfortable to mention this, I don't want to mention it. But the older I grow up, the older Mom gets, and one day she will die, I have a little sister, and I have to take care of her!"

Although their parents are prostitutes and drug addicts, innocent children still love with their parents. The female photographer also connected them to the boarding school, but five of the eight children ended up leaving the school. The director did not tell us the specific reason, but it is conceivable that when the classmates learned that they were the children of prostitutes, how would they treat these "alternative", "marginal" and even regarded as "despicable" classmates? Your mom is a whore, bitch, bitch, slut! You are a bastard, a wild one! Who can endure such insults and abuse? In addition to leaving, returning to the world full of "bitch" and "slut", returning to the relatives in the red light district where they grew up, to seek some warmth, the big world, where else can there be room for them?

Even though there are all kinds of bad things in the red light district, because someone needs them to love, because there is so much hostility outside, they have to give up all their dreams and go back to the "home" they love and hate. How hard and cold heart is needed to cut off these ties and discrimination? Most people do not have such strong power, they are destined to live there!

A lucky life must be free. Whether it is a city, an industry or a relationship, you will not be forced to maintain it involuntarily. When you feel reluctant, the tragedy has already begun. We should always have the right to choose how we want to live our lives! And stay awake and know what true freedom and happiness are! In "The Shawshank Redemption", the prison librarian, Lao Bo, was happy when he was incarcerated, but miserable after he was released from prison, but can you say that his happiness is healthy and normal happiness? A sane person would not consider being incarcerated to be a joy! But it is not easy to stay awake. We are always faced with the castration of the spiritual butcher knife. Some people have become eunuchs without knowing it, but some people are very happy to become eunuchs. In fact, happiness is innocent, and we have no reason to accuse the happiness of eunuchs, but if, as eunuchs, you laugh at others for holding up a small sun umbrella in the crotch, or even wield a big knife to castrate others, it would be too shameless! You can't have no eggs by yourself. You're jealous when you see others have eggs. Since you're a eunuch, you need to be pampered, and you may not live worse than those who have eggs, right?
