Jennifer Lynch bears the illustrious reputation of her father, but her works are getting worse and worse. Last time, "Surveillance", which was shortlisted in Cannes, was considered qualified. After all, there was my father behind the production and backing, but this time, "Bondage" was a complete failure.
The subject matter is originally very sensational, but unfortunately the rhythm is obviously not right, and the audience is constantly lost. The biggest criticism, I think, should be the psychological change of the little boy, which is inconsistent and has no logic at all. There is also the conflict at the end of the bloody serial, which makes the whole film's thrilling and bloody atmosphere turn 180 degrees back to the nostalgic Qiong Yao series. Did the screenwriter make up the story too ridiculous?
Of course, the only thing worth mentioning is Vincent D'Onofrio, who supported the whole play. The powerful bad boy who hasn't seen for many years has turned into a fat and bloated uncle. However, his drama skills are not weak at all. A lot of the inner drama is handled quite brilliantly, even though the script itself is pretty bad.
