Jarod's learning method

After reviewing 5 episodes of "The Pretender", I first summarize Jarod's learning method:

1. Talent is the foundation, which is undoubtedly;
2. The training received at the center is also the foundation;
3. Keen observation, high knowledge sensitivity
4. A lot of focused reading; 5.
Monotonous repetitive practice.

If the first two items cannot be achieved by ordinary people, the latter three items can be obtained through training.

Even if you can master Jarod's learning method in "The Pretender", you may not be able to do what he did. In addition to the reason for talent, the most important thing is motivation.
Jarod did it for two motives:
⓵ looking for his parents and family and understanding who he is;
⓶ helping others.

If there is no such strong motivation, there will be no strong desire to learn, let alone put it into action.

The Pretender quotes

  • Jarod: [after asking the foreman about the sulfuric chloride] One more question.

    Foreman: Shoot.

    Jarod: Valentine's Day. Specifically cupid.

    Foreman: Yeah.

    Jarod: A corpulent infant, who happens to be an archer, goes around shooting arrows into people and suddenly they're in love?

    Foreman: That's about it.

    Jarod: And to show that they love, people buy each other chocolate and other sweets? Do they want to be fat, like the infant?

  • Miss Parker: You mean a shrink, don't you? Thanks Syd, but I'll leave the mental masturbation to someone else.
