Man is social, and it is difficult for man to live by himself. People need the approval of the people around them, and they need social approval. But because of the selfish nature of human beings, recognition is a difficult thing. Unless a person has enough social experience and wisdom, trust often invites deceit and betrayal. Here comes the problem. Most of the people in this world don't have enough judgment. In the primitive society, the tribal elders can tell us who is trustworthy and who is not. The migration degree of people in the farming society is not high, and it is still okay to inquire about the individual. In modern society, trust has become a very scarce thing. Don't talk about strangers now, just the couples who share the same bed, how many can say that I trust each other 100%?
So what can easily be the basis for people to trust each other and become friends? Let me list them: brainwashing at Amway, practicing Lunzi Gong, drinking blood and alcohol in the underworld, and the three major irons: carrying guns together, whoring prostitutes together, and climbing mountains together. To sum it up in this way, there must be common goals, common experiences, or shared good things, and have supported each other in difficult times.
Then I found that religion fits the above points perfectly. It is a pity that our imported religion, Buddhism, is too difficult and has lost its original appearance after being alienated by the Chinese. In addition, Buddhism has a common problem with Confucianism, which is that the standard is set so high that no one can actually practice it (the theoretical basis of the inherent goodness of nature is wrong). The local Taoism is too practical, and is currently used more as a tool.
I've been to several Christian gatherings, family-style, in church. That sharing atmosphere is really appealing. So it can be said that there is still some understanding. I have to say that Christianity is better than getting started, and that through the redemption of Christ, the problem of how people who are inherently evil can deal with themselves has been solved.
Who is the happiest person in this film? I think it's the poor Mexican-looking Harvey. why? Because he is simple enough. Simple people are easy to be satisfied, easy to be happy, and it is even written in the Bible: I tell you the truth, unless you turn back and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
I have to say that after watching this movie, I was a little jealous. Jealous that they have such beliefs and can rely on them to trust their colleagues and friends and gain the trust of their families. Well well, envy is one of the seven deadly sins, so it's envy. It's just that I feel that envy is not enough to express this level.
The film highlights the importance of fathers to the family and society. So why am I envious today that the salary income on the other side of the ocean is not as good as mine, and I have to risk my life? It's because our ancestors didn't do it well. So start with me, I WILL.
Casually speaking, it involves religion, please forgive me if I am wrong.
There's a lot more to say, but that's about it.
