It's an inspirational film, and what it left for me is this line from Akira uttered by the sun, and it became one of those shots that lingered in my head: "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be ?Brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same." from Nelson Mandela Inauguration Speech, 1994 Our deepest fear is not lack of ability, our deepest fear is Capability goes beyond boundaries. Ask yourself, what kind of people do we want to be? Wise men, geniuses, famous people, great men, in fact, which one can't you do? We were born to prove that God gave us glory, and we allowed ourselves to shine, unknowingly, infecting others.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

Dr. Larabee: Does that mean anything to you?

    Akeelah: I don't know.

Dr. Larabee: It's written in plain English. What does it mean?

Akeelah: That I'm not supposed to be afraid?

    Dr. Larabee: Afraid of what?

    Akeelah: Afraid of... me?
