I really don't have the patience to watch this film from beginning to end, although I am extremely interested in Hitler's life. But what I want to know is the real Hitler, not the demonized, taken-for-granted Hitler that caters to the masses.
If you want to ask who is the most demonized and clowned person in human history so far, it is undoubtedly Hitler. Was Hitler the devil? You can certainly call him the devil, after all his racist policies resulted in the slaughter of 6 million Jews. But is he really the number one devil in the world as he was shaped by future generations? Which empire in history was not built on the Holocaust, but whose head of state has been denigrated like Hitler? Take Hitler's contemporaries as an example, Stalin, the great ancestor of a certain country, etc. Who is more worthy of cruelty than the other?
Apart from the brutal side, Hitler's greatness and extraordinaryness are admirable. From a penniless street homeless, struggling to become the head of a country, until completely changing the world pattern. It depends entirely on personal will and adherence to political ideals. From a personal moral point of view, Hitler was a noble person. He did not smoke or drink and was not a womanizer. He was completely self-taught and approachable. In terms of governing the country, it has created an economic miracle that has caught the world's attention and made the whole people prosperous. All the workers and peasants live a good life. From a political point of view, he adheres to his political ideals (albeit paranoid and narrow), but he is indeed an idealist, from private life to politics.
Speaking of this film, the opening scene can't help but make people look forward to it. Take a look at the actor who was hired by the director to play the role of the young Hitler. At first glance, he looks like an evil child. Look at those big evil eyes. He is probably a resentful ghost actor directly from the set of a horror movie, right? This kind of casting is nothing more than trying to tell the audience, look, Hitler was a born devil, and he had such an evil spirit when he was a child. Let's look at the adult "Hitler", he is just a clown, how can there be any charisma and personal temperament.
In the face of this wave of evil and charming actors, you can't help but think, if Hitler was really such a virtuous person, the Germans would be crazy about him back then, then the Germans were really crazy.
And all the plots, just like the casting of actors, only revolve around the word "devil" to develop an obscenity - an illusory obscenity under the appearance of real historical events. The original heavy subject matter has become weightless.
The demonized Hitler can only satisfy people's desire for venting and revenge, and cannot really prevent the recurrence of historical tragedy - anyway, this is a natural devil, so how can we prevent it?
De-demonizing and restoring the real, humanized Hitler is both a respect for history and a responsibility for the future - it will be easier for people to recognize when there are destructive idealists like Hitler again. .
I originally wanted to give this film one star, but compared with spoof films like "Fun with Hitler", it has popularized a little bit of junior high school historical knowledge, so let's count it two stars.
