Rolling Stone gave it a "zero star" rating. This is the first time I've been chasing Rolling Stone in so many years.

Ayn Rand's monumental 1,168-page, 1957 novel gets the low-budget, no- talent treatment and sits there flapping on screen like a bludgeoned seal. It's the first in a planned trilogy of films. Let's hope the other two parts are quickly aborted. The story, set in 2016 and hailing the individual in the battle against big government, concerns the disappearance of the world's most creative minds after they are asked the question: "Who is John Galt?" Who's the idiot responsible for this fiasco? You can't blame the Tea Party, an organization of 9 million that the film's producers are Exploiting to get butts into seats. There's an object lesson in objectiveivism for you.

After reading the book and then watching this movie, it will be more felt~ Although the performance of the movie is still shallow. To be honest, it should be made into a TV show.

Atlas Shrugged: Part I quotes

  • U.S. Representative's voice on television: Mister Speaker, we would like to propose a bill to make it illegal to fire employees from profitable companies.

  • John Galt: Midas Mulligan.

    Midas Mulligan: Who's asking?

John Galt: Someone who knows what it's like to work for himself and not let others feed off the profits of his energy.

Midas Mulligan: That's funny. That's exactly what I've been thinking.

John Galt: We're alike, you and I.

    Midas Mulligan: Who are you?
