uneasy in the end

(I just talked to a neighbor about the difficulty of peace, the title is random, let’s get together.)
The beginning of the film is the veterans party after the end of World War II. The hero Jimmy threw his military uniform out of the window and put on a Hawaiian shirt. and wide trousers. He glibly mingled with his comrades and women, and then he saw Francine and leaned over to chat. It took a lot of trouble to make a lot of jokes, but he finally succeeded. I thought it was a typical New York City lighthearted: you thought you just wanna get laid, but you found the love of your life instead.
It seems that the protagonist is changed to joseph gordon-levitt and zooey deschanel has nothing to do with it, jimmy is cheap Francine is stupid, playing the sax and singing in the band, and no one can do without.
Then things started to deviate from expectations. Jimmy is getting more and more authoritarian and domineering. He seems to take advantage of Francine's dependence on him to start controlling her - even proposing marriage: he has to read Francine's unfinished poems in the middle of the night, and after reading it, he makes her dress in a hurry without saying a word. The two found a priest to notarize their marriage. Francine was a little aggrieved that this was not the marriage proposal she wanted, but jimmy played his desperate madness again, and Francine finally agreed.
What came to mind? Yes, Blue Valentine's Day. What a brave and fearless lad Dean used to be, stalking Cindy on the bus, they had the sweetest moment, but in the end it was all destroyed by Dean's impulsiveness and selfishness. It's not a question of love or not, they love each other, but they have a gap in front of them from the beginning, you can ignore it, but you have to face the fact that you can't cross it.
Having a boyfriend like jimmy or dean does seem happy at first because he's desperate to get francine or cindy, but soon they find out that he'll be desperate for you for himself.
The biggest thing in common between the two films is the sense of powerlessness in them. The audience knows that things are a foregone conclusion but they are still looking forward to a change.
Francine is pregnant and is going back to New York to give birth. It was supposed to be a good thing for any couple (I guess) but jimmy turned yin and yang again, and seemed to be showing reluctance to be happy. Because he knew it meant Francine wouldn't be able to perform for a while. Of course, Jimmy's band without Francine is a mess, and no one is interested at all.
After a performance, francine hid in jimmy's car and blindfolded him from the back seat when he got in the car to surprise him, but in exchange for jimmy's rude "you fucking want to kill me", francine couldn't help crying When he got up and said he was scared, jimmy's rogue side exposed again "I'm more scared than you". If this is what a husband should say to his wife, I am speechless. Then they fought and Francine was born prematurely.
The child was born jimmy but complained that francine named his son jimmy without discussing with him. Since this kind of thing can cause jimmy's dissatisfaction, the audience has fully understood by this time that no matter how hard they try, they are gone. jimmy left without even looking at his son.
Then they separated.
Then a few years later they were both successful.
Then francine sang on stage the new york new york that jimmy composed her lyrics. He watched from the audience.
After the show, Jimmy went backstage to congratulate Francine. Oh god, they still love each other.
After Jimmy got out of the theater, he called Francine to ask her to come out for dinner. As always, he was domineering and authoritarian, and Francine agreed. But when she reached that exit, she stopped in the end.
"Taking from me, there's still gonna be a summer, a winter, a spring and a fall." One person's life will continue, but two people will only be destroyed. It's better to be separated.

The last empty shot is similar to the last fireworks shot of Blue Valentine's Day. I have not investigated whether the main creator of BV was inspired by NYNY, but in general it is very similar, except that NYNY has a singing and dancing flower stand. BV focuses more on the helpless sense of reality, while NYNY focuses more on feelings.
