Pina said, "Tanzt, tanzt, sonst sind wir verloren (jump, dance, or we shall be lost)". Pina's life is all about choreographing, dancing, dancing, choreographing. The whole film shows the dances Pina choreographed and maybe skipped, as well as the exclusive interviews with many long-term or short-term collaborations with dancers from the dance group who are subtly influenced by her. As a biography, the shooting method of writing instead of writing and the stars holding the moon has the momentum of a trickle gathering a big river, which is very clever.
If you read it correctly, the film was filmed in the early summer of Germany, with dancers dancing in the bright sunshine, at a busy traffic intersection in Wuppertal, in a noisy market, with the Schwebebahn (hanging tram) overhead. Elevated, the Schwebebahn whizzes by from time to time, and the big logo of McDonald's is far behind. Thanks to 3D, everything is very detailed, and everything seems so illusory, bizarre and surreal! Wuppertal is exactly the place where I used to be hot, blood and sweat when I was young. I jumped on the bus and rail, and looked at the mountains, rivers and foreigners, but I was lost at that time. I cried when I saw Cafe Mueller.
Wuppertal, also the hometown of Engels.
