This Marlowe is not evil enough

A very good noir film. It is also a standard American melodrama. The complicated and twisted plots, together with the mystery, lingering in the minds of the viewers, were not solved until the last moment before the end of the film.
The characters on the stage are also very American (that is, they have outstanding shapes and distinctive characters). Silly silly, violent Moose (played by Mike Mazurki). Grayle (played by Otto Kruger), a big villain with a strong sense of aristocracy, Helen (played by Claire Trevor), a young man and a femme fatale who wants a lot of money, and a rich old man (Grayle (Miles Mander) who regards money and his wife as his life. Played) innocent, lovely Ann (played by Anne Shirley). Each and every one of them is a character worth chewing.
Compared with these supporting characters, our protagonist, Marlowe played by Dick Powell, is a bit unbelievable. (a big hero with a sense of justice at all times), compared to the great Humphrey Bogart playing Marlowe, he lacks the uninhibited and evil taste that the Marlowe in my mind should have.
This is really me The only regret I felt after watching this movie.

Murder, My Sweet quotes

  • Helen Grayle: You shouldn't kiss a girl when you're wearing that gun... leaves a bruise.

  • Lt. Randall: Let's get it on the record... from the beginning.

Philip Marlowe: With Malloy, then. Oh, it was about seven o'clock. Anyway it was dark.

Lt. Randall: What were you doing at the office that late?

Philip Marlowe: I'm a homing pigeon. I always come back to the stinking coop, no matter how late it is. I'd been out peeking under old Sunday sections for a barber named Dominick whose wife wanted him back - I forget why. Only reason I took the job was because my bank account was trying to crawl under a duck.
