Beau Hutton: Say what?
Chiles Stanton: You're being very rude right now.
Beau Hutton: Tell me what you want.
Chiles Stanton: Nothing.
[they kiss]
Chiles Stanton: [singing] ... whiskey drowns and the beer chases my blues away.
[she sees Beau on the doorway]
Chiles Stanton: Oh hi Beau.
Beau Hutton: Ever be here to wish me good luck?
Chiles Stanton: I'm on board. I'm playing three songs tonight.
Beau Hutton: Says who?
Chiles Stanton: Says James Canter, that's who.
Beau Hutton: Bullshit.
Chiles Stanton: Bulltrue. I happen to be a consideration as an opening act for Miss Kelly Canter. James, my new manager, booked me this gig as a rehearsal. Not that I need it. I've been waiting for this moment since I was four year old.
Beau Hutton: Last time I saw you sing, you froze up like an ice cube.
Chiles Stanton: That was seven and a half months ago. And it was just one time. I'm not playing county fairs anymore. I'm much more seasoned.
Beau Hutton: You don't have any songs. You can't even play the guitar.
Chiles Stanton: I've been writing songs. I got a whole bunch of them right over there.
[points at her dresser]
Beau Hutton: [reads the titles of the lyrics] Little Heartbreaker, Summer Girl, Rinky Dinky Town... these aren't songs, these are rides at Disneyland.
Chiles Stanton: [sings mockingly] I've got friends in low places where the whiskey drowns...
