The plot is still the same. But this is nonsense. Romance films, that is, if they are together for a long time, they must be separated, if they are separated for a long time, they must be together. What new tricks can they play?
But Shu Qi's performance of Ah is not a highlight. Ah is not a very pure girl, kind-hearted, brave, and daring to love. Such girls are almost extinct now. After living for more than 30 years, I have only known one girl, who vaguely has the shadow of Abu. Maybe, such girls really only exist in movies.
Jackie Chan finally tried to change the way of acting and wanted to make a love movie. But can you imagine a Jackie Chan who doesn't play kung fu at all? Anyway, Jackie Chan is still Jackie Chan, and he lives by Kung Fu. So even though the fight scene is greatly reduced, there are still a few fights in the film. The so-called condensed is the essence, perhaps because of the substantial reduction of action scenes, Jackie Chan can concentrate on only a few action scenes.
The two fights between Jackie Chan and the little boxer are some of the best fights I've seen in any action and kung fu movie. The little boxer's movements are quick and sharp, and very flexible, almost stealing all the limelight. The two people's moves are full of free-fighting styles, lacking the one-sided routines in traditional kung fu films, and the two are close in strength, unlike Donnie Yen's films where the disparity in strength is one-sided. It's quite enjoyable.
Another highlight is the star of the major guest appearances in the film: Tony Leung, Ren Xianqi, Zhou Huajian, Wu Junru, Li Cansen... and Stephen Chow. With such appeal, such as the main theme film "Building x Great Career", only Jackie Chan is the eldest brother. "Miracle", which Jackie Chan wrote, directed and starred in, was even better in this regard.
Although the director of this film is Gu Dezhao, Jackie Chan is full of shadows from beginning to end. Which of those guest stars is not selling Jackie Chan's face? Even the film also blatantly told the audience: Jackie Chan's favorite color is white... Maybe Comrade Lao Gu is just a gorgeous puppet.
