Possession

I read Possession's Chinese version of the novel, and I read half of it off and on. I had to pause because of the obscure poems. I found the film version by accident, and I couldn't wait to enjoy

it. to be sympathized with?
Love for a wife is a duty, love for a lover is a passion, all in the name of love.

Love is too much.

The man I love the most is to tell this wife that I will not divorce you, you are my responsibility, I will take care of you for the rest of my life, and then turn to my lover and say, I have no love with my wife, only Family love, my heart is on you, but I can't abandon the scumbag wife who has been through weal and woe all the way. To put it bluntly, this kind of man is a selfish ghost, who has to grasp with both hands and sympathize with the world.

I just don't understand why women are so easy to immerse themselves in the beauty they weave, deceive themselves to believe that they are the unique existence, and foolishly find all kinds of excuses for men.

Those who want to have both can't have both, and the emotion and beauty brought by sadness can earn a lot of tears.

Possession quotes

  • Roland Michell: Don't worry about me. I'm kind of a brush and flush kinda guy.

    [seeing Maude's repulsed expression]

Roland Michell: Forget I said that.

    Maude: I'll try.

  • Maude: [the morning after they hooked up which Roland put a stop to] Okay, let's not beat the thing dead. It happened. We're both grown-ups...

    Roland Michell: Speak for yourself.

Maude: I'd hate to see how you're like after you actually sleep with someone.
