reason to touch

When the two non-commissioned officers in the picture quietly arranged their dresses and hats in silence in front of the car, and began to march side by side like a guard of honor, they slowly walked towards a country house in a slow pace.

This movie reminds me of a BBC documentary. Behind the rows of snow-white tombstones in Arlington, the non-commissioned officers who patrol every day live an unimaginably harsh life day after day in order to show their respect for the compatriots who have been buried here for hundreds of years. This is what the National Flag class requires. Dressing up every few minutes, the polished buttons on each dress, and the changing of the guard every second is not a formal performance for tourists, but a tribute to those names who are buried in the ground. I think that's what makes the movie "TAKING CHANCE" so moving.

If you are a soldier or have some experience with that war, this movie is worth watching. It can be seen that the director paid attention to the scenes, shots and rhythm.

Taking Chance quotes

  • Rich Brewer: Nobody in my family's in the military and none of my friends. But I thought about joining up. Yeah, but I was too chickenshit.

    [chuckles, then silence]

Rich Brewer: Sorry, I mean too chicken.

LtCol Mike Strobl: You can say shit.

Rich Brewer: Oh, cool. And plus the whole haircut thing. I'm in a band and, you know, you gotta keep it long to keep the ladies happy.

  • 1st Lt. Dan Robertson (Chance Phelp's platoon commander): [voiceover, from his 09 April 2004 letter to the Phelps family] It's ironic, but I am certain that if the world had more men like Chance Phelps, there wouldn't be a need for a Marine Corps.
