"Juliet and the Devil" and "Eight and a Half" began to use illusions more to express the fear, doubt, and struggle of the morbid spiritual world. The gloomy pictures and ghosts appear and disappear, very much like watching a horror movie. When I watched "Eight and a Half", I thought it was caused by black and white films, but the mixed colors of "Juliet and the Devil" have a horrifying effect that is even more unimaginable. It exudes a strong irony, but also contains a kind of pity.
It seems that Fellini's films are always inseparable from prostitutes. Maybe prostitutes are more prevalent in Italy. Even Fellini's wife played a prostitute in "Nights of Cabiria", although she didn't look like a prostitute. .
Chaos is a major feature of Fellini's films. Maybe Fellini likes this kind of chaos, but I always feel like a lunatic asylum. My personality still prefers the simplicity and cleanliness of Ingmar Bergman or Antonioni.
