American Dream in American Eyes

Cora 2022-03-24 08:01:05

The American Dream, generation after generation. It's full of passion, sweat, sweetness, and of course filth, tears, and suffering. In order to stay in the world "closest to God", they rushed through the mine-covered border again and again, just to stay and start the first step of their dream.
I don't want to comment on the American dream. There has been too much ridicule and contempt. There is no right or wrong for people to pursue their own dreams. And an American, when he lives the simplest life, is with his family, is protected by the law, and can stay on his own land at will, it is so simple, but he doesn't know that many people's desire for it can let down their dignity, and can Take the risk. Americans see too much in their eyes, but most of them don't care. They don't know that they are shattering or even ravaging other people's dreams.
But the director or the type of Americans he represents try to observe other people's dreams from a different angle, see the bitterness of others, and see their own halo, they say: the United States welcomes everyone as a new citizen.
Is the United States really what they say, and is the American dream really worth the pursuit of the world?

Max Brogan: What do you want me to do?

San Pedro ICE Processing Agent: Look, it's not my problem.

Max Brogan: All I'm asking, Stevens, is did the old man get seen to? He was sweating and shaking when I put him on the bus. He said his arm felt numb.

San Pedro ICE Processing Agent: Jesus Christ, Brogan, everything is a humanitarian crisis with you. You've signed off on more orders of recognizance than the rest of your unit combined.

Max Brogan: Don't give me that shit. The man's about to have a goddamn heart attack. I want him seen to.
