First of all, I haven't read the original book, but watched the TV series of 79 years.
1 From the perspective of movies
:
photography, lighting, props, scenery, costumes, special effects, really top level. These aspects gave this piece a delicate skin.
Bad:
Bad adaptation. It is impossible to complete the nearly 7-hour mission of the original TV within two hours, and only abandon it boldly. However, the film delusional to retain all plot clues, the result is highly superficial. The original version is one mile long, one mile deep, and the movie version is basically the same length, but only one inch deep. The only effective effort of the adaptor was to fabricate a party with everyone present to facilitate the crossover. But unfortunately that's all. The story is thin, floating around, jumping around. Audiences who have not done their homework may not understand it. The immediate victim of shallow plot is acting. Regardless of the protagonist's supporting role, the lines are as few as almost nothing, making the audience even more speechless. Actors can't say that they don't work hard, just take a performance in a few tens of seconds, it is in place. But the front and back strings are still too thin and not thick enough for the characters to come out. If you really want to come out, either the audience has a "strong" imagination, or the audience only cares about the skins of the celebrities.
Again, the casting is not good. Just talk about two examples. Mark strong's face is well maintained, so beautiful. It doesn't match the image of a field agent who has suffered so much. Murderousness is there, but it's too public. For field personnel performing high-risk tasks, the first priority is to hide, and then to kill. New Sherlock Holmes boy, but there is no murderous intent. This is the leader of the scalping team. When he expresses anger desperately, he is excited enough, cute enough, but not ruthless. It's not that it's not cruel enough, it's that you can't find cruelty at all.
2 From another perspective,
two important dialogue lines have been changed. With this change, the bones and bones between the film and the original work are all short, leaving a good skin to lead.

Add one more about casting
John hurt is a good actor, full of vicissitudes, but he belongs to the kind of recklessness, rivers and lakes, and western style. Basically, this time it was broken. Hurt didn't touch the edge of control's aura that had been accumulated for a lifetime.

Let's talk a few more words.
When the sun did not set, the arrogance was still there when it turned into a sunset empire.
An arrogant person respects the enemy very much. Although he can't succumb to the enemy without fighting as before, he will not just throw his nose into the opponent's face like a shrew. At the height of the Cold War, Britain gritted its teeth with hatred of Lao Maozi, but did not take the opportunity to describe its opponents in the original TV series. There are two good opportunities for black hands: one is the life of KGB expatriates, and the other is that intelligence Guoer was executed. Especially the last one, within a span of 7 hours, there are only a few words of dialogue on this matter, which is enough.
On the other hand, when looking at the new films of the new century, the beautiful women headshots are placed in front of the audience. Which one is this singing? The dialogue about the death in the original play echoes the previous little handsome boy's obsession with Guo'er. One of the main themes of bringing out the ups and downs of the spy sea, the boundless life and death.
It wasn't enough to photograph the enemy as a bloodthirsty monster, and moved Hitchcock's back window to take a peek at the decaying nightlife of KGB. The scene is beautiful, like watching a drama, Guoer opens the door from the left, enters the living room, and is blocked. At the same time, the dog and the man on the bed are punching holes in the back room. Guoer forcibly enters the back room, accusing, crying, being domestically assaulted, and then full of blood. Discharge the voyeur to get on the line smoothly.
I
really want to have intelligence personnel. At night, the headlights are all on and the curtains are all on. If outsiders can see enough, the woman must bring a mission to confess and stir up the water.
Has the adaptor's aura become obsolete, or has the current audience become idiots?
The funny thing is that the British adaptation (especially the two most important lines) seems that DADDY is not satisfied enough. So far, the pot maker is still showing a small scale in North America.
