Indie - Ridiculous - Dark Humor

A very independent film from Europe. The narrative is weird. I'll randomly call it a random name.
Discussed life. Also discusses what it means to be alive. Interpretation of the inability to communicate between people. Any communication is superfluous. And will shield into the dark void. Love and be loved.
A few small events at the beginning of the film interpret the darkness, coldness and sadness of existence. The beautiful overdrive sound of the guitar is used in the back to show the beauty, ideals, joy and kindness of life.
The film is very careful in the small details. Such as the girl from the appearance to the bride in her dream to the last shouting in the open space. They were all wearing pink boots. What does the boot imply. Implying the cruel reality of society. The girl realized her dream and realized her hope in her dream. And that is a small ideal of his own. How fragile small ideals are in the real environment. So I woke up from the dream and returned to reality, still shouting in the open space with those boots on my feet. And the middle-aged man who practiced the big horn at home that night. It is estimated that no one in his life will understand him. Only the big horn was his only old friend. Shows the helplessness of life.
In fact, I personally think this film can be without dialogue. Completely performed on screen. Acting out movies with movies.
The way the film is shot and the narrative is very different. Not recommended to everyone.
Finally, support independent films.

#Northern Film Festival Rewatch# Still. There are 56 fragmented passages in the film, set in the form of live people performing paintings. The passages are all shot with long shots, with 8 camera movements, 6 of which are slightly adjusted for composition, and the other 2 are pushed and pulled. Almost all shots are shot in closed spaces with long-range views, clever use of door frames and windows to create spatial layers, and ambient sound to create space outside the painting. The film is 86 minutes long, with an average of 91.36 seconds per shot. 14.29% for moving lenses, typical for fixed non-moving long lenses.

You, the Living quotes

  • The psychiatrist: Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

[examines the large stack of patient's files]

The psychiatrist: I am a psychiatrist. I have been for 27 years. I'm completely worn out. Year after year, listening to patients who aren't satisfied with their lives, who want to have fun, who want me to help them with that - it wears you out, I can tell you. My life isn't exactly a lot of fun either. People demand so much. That's the conclusion I've drawn after all these years. They demand to be happy, at the same time as they are egocentric, selfish, and ungenerous. Well, I would like to be honest. I would like to say that they are quite simply mean, most of them. Spending hour after hour in therapy, trying to make a mean person happy... There's no point. You can't do it. I've stopped doing it. These days, I just prescribe pills. The stronger, the better.

  • Anna: Forgive those who only think of themselves. Forgive those who are greedy and cheap. And those who deceive and cheat or grow rich by paying miserable wages. Dear lord, forgive them. Forgive them. And Lord, forgive those who humiliate and desecrate. Forgive those who torture and kill. Forgive those who bomb and destroy cities and villages. Forgive those who are dishonest, those who lie and are false. Forgive governments who withhold the truth from the people. Dear Lord, forgive them. Forgive those who are heartless, merciless, and quick to pass judgment. Please Lord, forgive them. Forgive courts that pass sentences which are too harsh or convict the innocent. Forgive them.

The minister: Anna... We have to close and lock up now.

Anna: Forgive newspapers and TV channels that mislead. That distract attention from that which is important. Dear Lord, forgive them.

The minister: There now, Anna. We have to close and lock up now.

Anna: Dear Lord, forgive them. Forgive them.
