British films tend to emphasize the plot and the center, and the characters are integrated rather than prominent, which is very different from Hollywood; therefore, it gave me the impression of darkness, leaves, thunderstorms, and night. But this version does pay attention to the spirit of the original work. The style of director David Lean is very powerful, and the bleak and harsh social reality is vividly displayed. Although I can't forget the BBC TV series in 1985, there is no doubt that the David Lean version has become the one that shakes my heart the most.
The image of the little male protagonist is in line with the description of the original work, but he still lacks some liveliness in spirit. I remember that he was among the best in the selection of a child star in 2006; I have seen a lot of the contemporaneous Hollywood child star's accent, but this little British boy made my heart suddenly. A shock.
